So like, I'm a long time YIIK fan. I defended it back during 1.25, but there were some obvious caveats. The combat specifically was a huge issue for me.
I still stuck by it. The story is incredible if you're willing to actually put your own snobbery aside and take a real look at Alex's snobbery and delusion. I became kinda a joke among my friends as that one weird girl that likes YIIK a bit too much.

And uh...
That game looks like stinky dumpster water compared to this.
This update/remake/remaster/re-imagining/expansion is EVERYTHING.
There is no more "It's good but" it's just incredibly good now. It's perfect, it's radiant, it's beautiful. I was mesmerized, entranced, enraptured. I was screaming and crying by the end of it, unable handle the incredible beauty.
It's easily my game of the year, and honestly revitalized my love for games. So many big games are just slop that strings you along waiting for another hit. As a kid with an opiate problem, modern games prey on me the same way as the pills.
Not this. This was a pure experience. This is what games used to feel like.
Perfect game, play now.

This is inexcusably bad. Just look at all the other reviews, my complaints echo them.
It's just all awful, and I feel horrible for saying it. The game feels like it's falling apart.
Like I've been writing this review for five minutes now, and I don't know where to even begin, it's overwhelming how many problems it has. It's just absolutely beyond.

The game should like, be better. Make a game that feels good next time.

It's like the best game I've ever played. I can't stop playing it. Please. I have a problem, send help.

I'm at a very bad point in my life, and don't feel very much anymore. Depression has wiped me out, and I just kind of drift from day to day.
This game has kept my rapt attention, and made me bawl my eyes out.

Playing this stupid little game filled with both the most adorable and most terrifying monsters I have ever seen is the single most important thing I will ever do in my life.

Also, I want to hug everything in this game SO MUCH.
