This game still manages to surprise and intrigue me after almost 400 hours. It plays at first quite deceptively simple, but is very quickly a deep, complex, and rewarding challenge. Everyone who loves to tinker, learn, and explore will love every minute with this title. It's very simply one of the best game experiences I've ever had. Beyond that, the developer is honest, enguaged with their community, and well deserving of your support. Buy this immediately and don't look back.

I very much enjoyed playing this through, and expect I'll take a fresh pass at it in the near future. The base building elements are not the major component, but rather support the richness found in the exploration. Discovering and building technologies you need to go farther out into a black unknown is deeply satisfying. This game fed my curiosity with an all you can eat buffet, while I was constantly being reminded by noises from the depths that I wasn't the only one hunting for something fresh.

My only complaint would be the numerous minor visual, logical and controller bugs. Nothing game breaking, but lots of stuff that is pretty obvious and irritating. This was clearly taken out of early access while the developer was aware of issues. I especially enjoyed falling through my submarine's floor randomly. Overall, I'd say this title is an 8/10 with the potential to be more if the minor issues affecting immersion and controller use are fixed.
