such a fun game especially with people. My bf and I are currently creating our own little settlement and so far he accidentally got me killed by putting a firecamp infront of me not knowing I was coming out, I drowned, I got killed by bees, a tree fell on me causing me my death, and he went to go gallavanting somewhere far but then monsters were summoned unto our home so I had to protect both our house and our boars-- Bacon and Bacondetta-- on my own while I yell for help behind me (we play back to back). Such fun!

My grandma who I was very closed to died yesterday and I was trying to distract myself from how I'm feeling and I'm glad I stumbled upon this game. I was actually in the ER last week and was told I have to control my stress level until I'm fully healed. This cute and wholesome game has been helping me with my grieving. I've been playing nonstop 🫶🏻

I actually learned of this game because of how excited the dev was on twitter. The dev worked on this for three years and the hard work shows. It's very polished and works really well on steam deck. If ever, I hope a modder can implement a bigger text for us who play this on the deck. Yes! It has a workshop so it's moddable! The dev even provided samples to help those who want to make some which I found very mindful.

This is honestly such a cozy game and I hope it keeps getting worked on. If the dev ever put out dlcs, I would very much support it. It has a lot of love put into it and I think the pacing for progression is really good. It looks like I got a lot of things to do.

Definitely try it.

So I've been lucky and didn't experience any lag or issues. I even tested streaming the game. After a few hours, I was able to group up with this random folks who made the game much more enjoyable. It's actually a very fun game when you're playing with other people because you can combo your skills with each other. Game is aesthetically beautiful and they really took care with the details. I'm enjoying all classes =) Some of the mechanics actually reminded me of diablo 3. But a prettier and more meatier.

A majority of the people who voted this game down didn't know the game is only open right now for those who bought the founder's server. The second are due to the lag other people experienced. I played with someone from the Philippines and Canada and they were okay. They didn't experience lag =o

If you're getting the stuck or queue issue, try changing channels. It apparently worked for other people. It did for me too actually.

=) Overall, lovin the experience so far.

After reading the many negative reviews from people who played it for less than an hour -- some were even from people who played for 30 minutes -- then reading the reasons for the negativity, I just want to warn you guys about the accuracy of some of the claims. I've played all the annos and loved them. I purposely did not read the reviews until I got it for myself and played for 6 hours. I already know a lot of the bad reviews would solely be over the fact that you have to use uplay. Lo and behold, I got it right.

--First, I want to say, give the game about 5 hours of gameplay. That's about how long it takes to really feel the game as a whole and see what it can bring and if you like what it's bringing--

I'm going to talk about the game first. When I just started, I felt like the game was a bit "fast" in terms of progression and I was breezing through it. I wasn't forced to micromanage right away like the older annos. Now am I saying that the game is easy like the others claim it to be? No, not at all. For those who never played any anno series, I think starting with this one would be best because the game starts off easily enough. However, I think they designed it this way so that you can reach the point of the game where you now have to be aware of your resources and if leveling up your people into higher tier shiny buildings can cause you to not have adequate resources for your regions/cities. It pretty much wants you to get to the meat of the game fast. But once you get to that point, you have to take your time. Also, unlike the other anno series where you have to check your cities on the other islands constantly, this time around, you just need to simply go back and forth from the temperate region, the arctic, and finally, the moon. Once you hit the arctic region, that's when the fun starts.

Again, you must be willing to invest more than 2 hours to really experience what the game is capable of (although, as I've mentioned earlier, I really recommend 5). When you start having colonies in the arctic region, you must ensure they have enough heat sources which they can get from the factories you plop down *they have a heat radius*. From there, you must make sure that your other region is trading enough of what they need (and vice versa). It's more streamlined/trade flow than the other annos.

The moon is my current challenge because it's very expensive to colonize. You also have to make sure that you have the protective shield around your colony so they don't get smashed into smitherins by them asteroids.

Aesthetic wise, the game is gorgeous. Very beautiful and I just love going in postcard mode, just looking around my settlements. The only issue I have with this is it might need a bit more optimization. My desktop can run skyrim with all the heavy mods in ultra setting with no issues. But I get drops of FPS here and there with this game. Not so bad though and not often. But I feel it will be a bit of an issue later on when I have more things congregated in one spot.

Bugs? Currently no bugs for me.

Interface? I love the interface on this one. That one they optimized well.

Battle system? I never liked that part on any of my annos because I always felt them lacking. However, I liked what they did on this one very much. You now have to have fuel in order to do certain things with your vessels (like, repair) but at the same time, you can salvage around for the "special" abilities as I call em. You can get them from enemies you sunk or just floating around. This revamp made battling enjoyable for me.

I'm not saying the negative reviews don't deserve to be heard. But, generally, with games like these, it's best to eye the ones that invested a big chunk of time before putting a negative reviews. Reviews such as, "ugh, uplay! Bad GAME", or "NO MP?! WELL F-- THIS GAME! TIS HORRIBLE!", isn't exactly something to go by. Sadly, it repels other gamers from getting the game and they end up missing out on a game they have the potential of investing a lot of time and enjoyment in.

Again,I've played the other annos. I actually like this game a lot. I read some inaccuracies on a bit of negative reviews which made me realize they obviously did not invest a couple hours at least in the game. It's not water downed. It's a bit different from the previous anno but it brings it's own flavor of difficulties with it.

That's about it. I don't want to invest too much time on other's reviews than the actual game itself in my review. I hope I pointed certain things out enough that it will encourage you to make your own decisions. Luckily steam has a refund policy so you always have that option.

PS: Do not listen to those who said even on youtube it has a negative review. No. Most of them are quite positive (I know because I've been watching a lot of em' before I bought the game). Also, there's a lot of fair reviews about the game and I saw it was a pretty consistent B+ average. (A lot of the ratings I've seen so far were averaging 8).

Can't wait for the expansion. This will satiate me til fallout 4 is in front of my doorstep. =)

Amazing game for sure. Gorgeous all around, from the graphics to the music. Also, for a beta things are smooth for me, especially the fighting. I was all sparta and katniss up in this biotch. I was asked to put a review of this game on my blog but i'm gna have to hold off on it because I have to write about the new or in development indie games first. This game is already known enough. I can however attest to the amazingness of this game :)
