I was running out of food fast, and with only two more bullets left I knew what I had to do... The dam was the only place I hadn't looted where I knew there would be enough loot to keep me going. So i grabbed my trusty rifle and headed out into the long dark. Coming up to the entrance of the dam, a feeling of dread lay in my stomach, I knew what was in there, and with only two bullets if I missed I would most definitley die. But i entered, i placed my lantern on the ground, and chucked flares into the other room... A whimpering could be heard... Fluffy was there. I aimed my rifle and waited... It was too dark to risk walking in there and aiming at him, so I waited for my flares to run out. One by one the flares ran out, and each time one did the growls got louder, and louder, and louder... My heart was racing, my rifle aimed at the door... The last flare went out... And so did my lantern... Fluffy snarled and ran towards me, I aimed and fired but only clipped him, he jumped at me and sunk his teeth into me, I managed to hit him with my hatchet, and he fled down the stairs.

I was bleeding, but so was he... I ran down the stairs into the darkens and at the end of the hall I saw those great yellow eyes... I raised my rifle and shot through the darkness, the gunshot reverbed into my ears and gave a loud ringing... The beast was dead. I patched myself up and looted the place, only to find out one thing...


I forgot my bedroll...

And that ladies and gentlmen is The Long Dark, everything about this game is immersive and rewarding and challenging. You never feel safe and when you do (like after I killed Fluffy) you realise that you forgot one item or one small thing, and that will end your life.

This game is amazing, it is was early access was meant for, and with Hinterland Studios providing constant updates and bug fixes, there is no reason why you should atleast try this game out. And if you get bored, in a monts time you could come back and it would be completley different.
