Not the best game in the genre, but still fun.

Was what I expected. Excellently done.

Shadow Run RPG. If you like it, you'll like it.

Just as the predecessor it excellently captures the spirit of W:tA.

If you like interactive stories and sci-fi, this is well worth its money.

Update: I'm going to change my recommendation. The game has several issues, some of them I listed below, but overall it's absolutely worth the money.

There is a lot of good in the game. The reasons why I still don't recommend it:
* They put in a tad too much of everything, which slows down the game incredibly. It's probably OK for people who need to kill time, but to me it too often feels like work instead of fun.
* The tactical view doesn't work very well. Often, characters get stuck.
* The tactical rules also don't allow nearly as much control as in previous DA games. The AI is actually not bad, but sometimes I'd still want more fine-grained control.
* You can only use 8 of your skills.

The camera sucks and the music is crap. The fighting is too hectic and cinematic for my taste. I do miss the skills like in Dragon Age Origins a bit, but that's OK I guess. I rather like that you can't equip your companions with weapons and armor - that takes a lot of pressure off the player to maximize their stats.
The quests I have seen so far are good, but I feel for several of the companions it's not really explained well why they would want to accompany you after their initial quest.
Overall, it's still a fun game, though.

I like the game and I recommend it. Wait for a sale, though.
However, I hate how they add the the basics of new game mechanics via updates, but actually you have to buy the DLC to make it work properly. Otherwise they nearly break the game -- some more, some less. The "Paragons" update rather more.

it's a fun game

It's a good game and I enjoy playing it.

However, having played the first Elex, there are some things that annoy me.

1) How you played and finished Elex 1 doesn't have any influence on this game. I mean, I was a Beserker Paladin, lead the armies of the free people against the Albs and won. And now nearly nobody recognizes me? I am not even admitted entrance to the Berserker's place? Like maybe at most 15 years later, people should recognize Jax more.

2) The explanation why Jax has lost all his abilities is crap to non-existent.

3) The quests are very similar to Elex 1.
Build a base, join a faction, find a general -- been there, done that. Even many of the side quests feel terribly familiar. There is even again a guy trying to talk you into a dodgy investment.
Might be they did that on purpose, because it obviously worked in Elex 1, or perhaps that is what gamers requested according to their marketing people. But I would have liked a bit more originality.

I think it would have been better to use a new main character. The ability loss would have been no issue. It would have made sense you needed to gain acceptance anew. It would also have given them the chance to let players customize the main character a bit more (at least the option for a female main character). They could still have had cameos from Elex 1 characters without presuming on how you had played it.

P.S. Why do the children look so out of proportion?

P.P.S. The late game story writing leaves a lot to be desired. Still, I can't wait for the story to continue.
