It's very fun at first, and playing with friends while starting just makes it even better. However, unlocking new characters, items, events, etc isn't very rewarding. It really doesn't help as much as I wanted it to, considering it's the only real "progress" you get out of a 5 hour run.

Also, and this just might be my taste, but I don't have a ton of fun replaying a game over and over when it tends to lean more on RNG events than skill (risk management is a thing, but whatever), especially when the content is practically the same every time. Even when going for the other game maps

So why do I recommend it? I think the initial content before it gets stale is worth $20. It's not too often that I start playing a game at midnight with my friends and realize a moment later that I have just spent 5 hours without realizing it and I should've gone to sleep a while ago. Just be prepared to potenitally only like playing the game for 20 - 30 hours before giving up on it.

Good game! But don't buy this, go for Heroes of Hammerwatch 2.
