I've seen many compare this to Dark Souls. Big no-no.

There are similarities, yes, but this game's combat is much more dynamic and free-flowing. You are more agile and stamina is much more forgiving once you start picking up modules that enhance their speed and capacity, allowing you to be more flexible in your fighting styles. Healing is also very forgiving once you gain modules that let you heal off of energy generated from striking enemies, provided you are agile enough to not take too many blows in the process.

Lore and storytelling is somewhat similar to the Souls series, except for the fact that you are experiencing the fall instead being placed a distant future from it.

Cons:
-My biggest complaint would be the heavy usage of maintenance corridors, which can get rather repetitive and could even easily turn into a maze for confused first-timers to get lost in at the last level.
-Shortly after that is a small gripe that melee is the only build you can work on; there are no equivalents to archery/magic builds.
-Lastly is the small number of bosses - although the non-damaged weapons they drop (provided you defeat them in a particular manner that makes the fight harder) is completely worth it as those weapons trump their ilk and scale well into late-game.

I wouldn't say this game is better than the Souls series by any stretch, but as it stands on its own it's still certainly no slouch. Pick this up if you want a more adrenaline-fueled and brutal experience than the more careful and tactical approach of the Souls series.

I cannot in any good faith whatsoever recommend this game, not when its developer team is more intent on playing Social Justice Dodgeball with spineless, thin-skinned crybullies addicted to outrage (And aren't even going to buy the game anyway), and in turn screwing over their core and faithful playerbase without a care.

While a beautiful game with an interesting equipment progression system that requires venturing deeper and deeper into darker, scarier waters where things both deadly and breathtaking may lurk, critical bugs still persist from early access (fish swimming into your base for one). So instead of fixing these bugs, they choose to fire the one guy who is responsible for all the haunting, beautiful and terrifying sounds within the ocean, because apparently in Current Year Feelingz > Facts and Wrongthink now apparently makes you a baby-eating animal-kicking goose-stepping fascist.

I have little confidence that whoever they dredge up as the new Sound Director for the announced expansion will match the skills and talents of the one they fired; methinks they're just as likely to salvage and copy-paste his works in desperationpragmatism.

Time for some calculating (in USD):

$50 gives 400 red beans, minus the +40 bean bonus.
So based on its discount (in USD), the deluxe pack's price of $60 should give you 480 beans.

Instead, you get 200. Think of it this way: assuming you've already unlocked every battleframe, the remaining 280 beans goes into the rest of the package: The jeep, the warpaint, the titles, and the VIP time. In comparison, the three bikes in the red bean store are priced at 175, 290 and 350 beans, and 90 days of VIP time alone is roughly 300 beans.

In its original price, the deluxe pack was unfeasible for players who already had all battleframes unlocked (me included). As it is it's still a high price, but now you're definitely getting a more reasonable bang for your buck even if you've already unlocked every battleframe (if you haven't unlocked most of the other frames, then now's a really good idea to throw some money at Red 5).

Edit: I didn't mention the soundtrack and the concept art book. Music is pretty average stuff, but if you're into concept art, R5's stuff can be simply gorgeous.

Dmitry Glukhovsky's skills as a writer clearly shines in this sequel to Metro 2033: If you have been gripped by the plot of its predecessor, M:LL will shine even brighter with a great sense of remorse and redemption in the atmospheric ruins of Moscow Metro.

Foreboding to the new, ruthless to the naive, brutal towards the foolish.
And the light at the end of the tunnel so very far away might have been a lie all along.

Dark and beautiful with a greatly pronounced sense of sorrow, redemption and consequence.

Beautiful artistic game, with a compelling narrated storyline.

The very first game I ever bought on Steam way back then. Its beauty and excellence was a great start to my Steam gaming journey.
