I have been a fan of the Elite series of games since the release of Froniter: Elite 2 back in 1992 and Elite: Dangerous takes the series of games to a whole new level. The learning curve can be a bit steep for players new to the Space Sim genre but the tutorial missions and videos available in game get you familiar enough with the basics to get you going, mastering the controls may take consideral more time but the list of supported control devices make tailoring the game to your level of simulation fantastic.

The game offers a true sandbox experience and let's you do whatever YOU want to do. Do you want to be a space trucker hauling goods (or other more prohibited goods) across the galaxy? Want to ferry passengers to the wonderful sights in the galaxy? Or transport aid workers to systems in need of help? You can even be a space pirate and steal and murder your way to fame and fortune! Maybe you want to fight for humanity against the mysterious alien race known as the Thargoids or uncover the mysteries of ancient Guardians!?

Of course if none of that interests you perhaps you simply want to peacefully explore the galaxy and visit any one of the 400 billion star systems available! Elite: Dangerous recreates our very own Milky Way galaxy in a 1:1 scale!
