I’m standing completely still. Most of the team is already dead. There is only myself and another. We watch both doors, listening, and waiting. The clock is ticking. Our hostage will not stop crying softly. Most of the enemy has tried to breach us. Everything is blown apart, leaving shrapnel all over the ground. Gunshots are quickly heard, forcing me to turn, but I am told to stay focused. The door exploded. Two shots, POP POP, and the enemy is dead. We are victorious once more. I use away from the keyboard, satisfied, as the Soviet Union national anthem plays in the distance.

“You earned this.” My teammate tells me. Probably because I picked the Russian operative. I feel amazing. Everything is amazing.

We then lose the other ten games in a row.
I’m a disappointment.
