Best game I have every played. A genuine artistic achievement.

Scummy publishers or not, this title demands a play through.

I feel bad for CA Sofia. They put out quality, well optimized products delivered with obvious care and stylistic flare. But they are let down by the poor decisions of their parent company and what I am sure was a rushed development cycle (first Total War game I can remember in a long time that wasn't delayed at all).

Overall, it is a fun and surprisingly deep game with little (but not insignificant) opportunity for replayablity.

I don't think I have ever played a game that has more perfectly encapsulated the futility and frustration of trench warfare. You will send whole armies worth of troops head long to their death to take a single star off a region that has 5, meaning you have to do it all over again 4 more times to actually change the battle lines. Timing arty with inf assaults is absolute essential, and even once you get the timing down expect the first wave to be annihilated if you succeed at all. As the defender, you are pounded into the dirt by constant artillery barrages and seemingly endless waves of enemy forces, limited by your scarce stock of supplies. You must continually feed more men into the trenches to replace those killed in barrages or butchered in close range fighting. Your initially stalwart defenses will be haggled by the end of a battle, battered if not broken, and more often than not you will fight two or three more battles in the same region on the same turn, all the while holding your ground and bleeding the enemy dry.

This is not a matter of breakthrough and maneuver, this is bleeding the enemy white before they can do the same to you.

I Love it.

Axis get yet another strong Armored Division and Allies get more Infantry Divisions to be ground into paste by superior German (and Hungarian) engineering.

I really wanted to like this game, and I enjoyed the first half or so of it, but the later chapters really drop off with poor enemy and location design.

The visuals are absolutely stunning, and presentation is this game's strongest aspect (the animation quality is some of the best i've ever seen) but jank with the movement and especially weapon switching creates alot of frustrating moments.

The core combat is fun at first but it quickly gets repeatitive and lacks depth, and if u don't have ammo your pretty much ♥♥♥♥♥.

Story is pretty weak as well, better than the original Dead Space imo (though thats not saying much) but the origins of the infection are not nearly as interesting as Dead Space and are explained in a afterthought way that just comes off as odd in context. Characters range from bland to delightful (Sam Whitner) but unfortunately most are the former rather than the latter.

Overall, its a 6 or maybe 7 out of 10 game that would have been better as a one off and kinda loses its way towards the end.

YOU GET A STURMGEWHER AND YOU GET A STURMGEWHER, EVERYONE GETS A STURMGEWHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really fun to play and well balanced faction with enough STG44's to turn this ♥♥♥♥ into Call of Duty as your Sturmpioneers die glorious deaths for the Vaterland in swarm tactics not unlike those used by idot 14 year olds pressing W and the left mouse button simultaneously in hope of victory.

This is a must have for axis players, as the divisions are all fun and add in many new and unique units as well as being strong. But for allied players I'd say you can skip this one, as with the exception of the 43rd Reserve Army you pretty much have seen and played everything the new soviet divisions have to offer. The Estonian division is pretty much just shoe horned in, and plays like a re skinned soviet rifle division, so don't buy it just for them.
