The idea is cute, but the gameplay loop is repetitive. But the worst part for me is the combat and movement. It feels like the game tries to be Enter the Gungeon, but with only 8 directions of movement, and with your attacks and dodgeroll locked to the cardinal directions, it's horribly clunky. Especially so, when none of the enemies are locked to the same constraints. they can wander, meander, attack and get knocked back in any direction, but you have 8 directions to move, and 4 directions to attack. It just doesn't work. That, in combination with the sluggish attacks, makes combat clunky and unsatisfying.

I tried really hard to enjoy this game, but the fun drained way too quickly, even in the first dungeon. I unlocked the next one and kept trying, only to find the enemies are even less restricted to the grids that the player is confined to. Too often will you swing at a small slime only for it to slide at some weird diagonal angle that escapes your sword's arc, and your attacks are too slow to follow up or change directions while it lazily moves into your space. In the time it takes for your character to respond to movement again, it's hit you for 1/3 of your life bar and applied poison. Not only that, but your attack's arc doesn't include your space, so any enemy that enters your space is untouchable until you dodge-roll away, turn around, and line up a new attack.

Not to mention the fact that you can't move and attack continuously, you are instead locked in place when you attack, or you do a pathetic hop forward (only in cardinal directions mind you!) which will more often make you miss your attack and take contact damage because the attack arc begins past the enemy entirely, dealing no damage and swing-stunning you to lose 1/3 of your HP before you can reposition at all.

When enemies can move and attack omni-directionally and simultaneously without experiencing any hitstun, you would at least expect to be able to do similarly, instead of feeling like you're fighting enemies like Enter the Gungeon but controlling a Game-boy-advanced-era Legend of zelda character who needs half a second to recover from swinging his sword before he can take another step

Reseña de Acceso anticipado
Absolutely incredible. An amazingly unorthadox blend of genres mashed together in an exceedingly well-executed game with a beautiful soundtrack to boot. It is a challenging, "easy to pick up, hard to master" kind of game with unique and interesting mechanics, items, etc. that all fall together perfectly.
