After several months of pain, Total War: Warhammer 3 is now in a playable state, with Immortal Empires. Life is good.

Once in a very long while, you will come across a piece of art that resonates with you.

For myself, Disco Elysium is that piece of art. I won't go into details about the incredible writing or the way the skill system works. The way that is pushes you forward, regardless of how much of a train wreck you're making of things. Instead what I'd like to focus on is how it made me feel.

There are several 'moments' within the plot (which I won't spoil) which struck straight to the heart of me, causing me to rethink attitudes and patterns of behaviour that I had possibly been stuck in. There was even a moment of genuine wonder, a total suspension of disbelief that left me frantically trying to show my partner what had occurred. A lot of art can be pleasant, some art can be meaningful, but only rare pieces can be transformative.

I urge you, play this game. Don't spoil any of it for yourself by reading anything, just play it.

Excellent roguelike, probably one of the best I've played in a long time. The story intertwining with the gameplay is sublime in addition to this.

A very worthy follow-up to Pyre.

Thoroughly enjoyed my first playthrough of this visual novel.
A well told story in the World of Darkness universe and one that took more than a few twists and turns.

Update: I updated this review to showcase the visual style of this game, which is lovely.

This game tricks you into thinking it's going to be easy, but by the end of your first successful run you will unironically know exactly who the Lionsmith, the Moth, the Sun-in-Rags and other colourful characters are, AND exactly how they fit into the Secret Histories of the World.

Or you'll fail, and then it won't matter anyway, as there's always another soul desperate to never grow old.

(Seriously, the game doesn't hold your hand at all, it's about discovering how to do things within the limitations of what you can do at that moment. Please don't read a guide unless absolutely stuck)

10/10 Would walk behind the Watchman again.

Probably one of the most satisfying games I've ever played. So much fun, so much madness, so many ways to die horribly.
