Mordhau is about wearing as little armor as possible, and saber and axe are also S tier. Armor sucks in Mordhau, just as Knight/Vanguard did in Chivalry, for the exact same reason: it's better to take no damage by sprint dodging away than take less damage by wearing armor. Armor forces you to take hits that you otherwise can force dodge and subsequently punishes your mistakes far more. You can make a mistake with no armor and still not take damage by sprint dodging. If you make a mistake with armor, you're guaranteed to get hit. Armor also makes team fighting much more dangerous because you can't sit on the outskirts and poke safely in the flank and rear while retreating as needed, which is what you're supposed to do in pugs. Bloodlust rush fury naked maul/waraxe/saber is how you play this game. Armor is only for aesthetics.
