This game is beautiful, in many senses of the word. I've looked up on the devs of this game, and you can tell they put so much passion and work into Caves of Qud. I'm used to game devs either being aloof or just plain rude, but these devs actually care about their userbase in a really nice and personal way? It's definitely a breath of fresh air.

I wasn't expecting such a deep well of lore to be in a traditional roguelike, but the game's story is incredibly expansive and there's just so much to it. The graphics, despite seeming simple at first, are... well, just cool. Plus, the atmospheric soundtracks make you feel right away like there's something much more to the game, that it isn't going to be just a simple hack and slash. My only complaint would probably be one of taste- Caves of Qud is definitely a long playthrough. However, there's game modes where you can save at towns/villages and you can come back to the game anytime, so that definitely makes things easier.

Overall, Caves of Qud is definitely one of the top traditional roguelikes on Steam for a reason. Not only is it fun, it feels like a classic- the story and atmosphere the game gives off is what really shines through. Definitely worth checking out!
