After playing several matches and completing the campaign on medium difficulty, I have to say its not worth it. I loved CoH... but this, this is a sham. first off only 2 armies to choose from (without DLC) that being russians and germans. Secondly if you actually liked the game and want more (my god theres more) you can buy it. like a 2nd campaign $40 please..... like bugger off. $10 sure or even $15 (or $20 would be pushing it) But $40...... you've got to be joking.

I enjoyed bits and pieces of it. I really did. But I think that was because of my love for CoH (that being the first game)
for the amount of content it just really is not worth it. Go buy the first CoH and its DLC all up probably less then $30 and it has 6 times the amount of content and fun just looks a little older and i do mean only a little.

My thoughts on the game having finished it
I cannot even begin to describe how dissapointed i am in this game, and I say that with great sadness. I have only just finished it so I wish to put my thoughts out there while they are fresh.
if you were looking forward to an interesting improved version over the origional Prototype you will be serverly dissapointed. if you want to have some more fun in the Prototype universe, go play the origional again and save yourself the pain.

Credit where credit is due, Prototype 2 DOES look good, I will give it that. But thats about the ONLY thing it does better then the origional. It just feels as though the developers kinda.. well... dumbed it down for example the progression system in the origional was that you would earn EP (Evolutionary Points) through the main story and through doing side missions and then you could freely choose how you would evolve your character with a few story limitations (which made sence) and could unlock new abilities and combo moves.

In Prototype 2 however the EP that you earn are directly channeled into a liniear level up bar where once it is filled simply gives you a level up point that you can choose to place in either:

Health
Regen
Movement
Mass
Finishers
and Disguise (which in almost completly pointless I might add)

Once the point has been placed it simply gives you a straight up boost to the thing that you choose.... and thats it....how boring. Now before people go off at me YES you can do side missions to aquire "mutations" (selectable passives) but again that is quite boring and not worth going after as the game can quite easily be completed without aquireing more then a single passive...

Another problem is that many of the enemies you will encounter are just re-skins. There are some new enemies but most if not all will instantly be recognisable which is a shame.
most of these things I could deal with but what really put the nail in the coffin for me was

*not really a spoiler*

The final boss fight, Obviously you fight the protagonist from the first game (Alex Mercer) and I have to say it was one of the worst if not THE worst boss fight I've ever had to force my way through, because I refused to give up on the game after making it so far, but my GOD it was terrible.

I like many of you I'm sure remember building up Alex to be the ultimate badass killing machine. Yet once you reach him, to destroy your maker.... it's just pathedic. The fight is a spam fest of dodging and back stabbing with scripted movements, camera angles and area restricting nonsence.

First off. The spam. my GOD the spam. Yourself and Alex literally jump around each other constantly because many of Alexes attacks are unblockable and auto hit unless you are spamming the hell out of dodge. Then once you land behind him you back stab him a few times, then rinse and repeat.

The camera angles kind of lead into the area restriction problem. you confront alex on top of a building and after having the whole game free roam, you are now restricted to this one roof top for the duration of this fight and in doing so the camera has to use funky angles just to try and keep up with all the stuff flying around the screen causing many, MANY problems and it is just stupid. Yes the origional did the same with its boss fight but at least it had a semi decent reason of being on an aircraft carrier and at the very LEAST that boss had minimal scripting and the fight was still "free roam"

In all honesty it would have been better if they had just made Alex like the (minor spoiler) Evolved where they fought you around the city in free roam. It would have made the fight so much better.

All in all I am dissapointed which makes me very depressed as I absolutly loved the first game and played the hell out of it, this sequal.... just makes me sad.

If you are new to this universe go buy the origional and have a blast. If you are a fan like me? then just avoid this and go have fun with the origional again.
