I fell in love with this game in the very first hours of playing it. Throughout the years From the Depths has brought me countless hours of enjoyment and fun with its in-depth mechanics. This game has become my most played game and it's for very good reasons! Originally I got into vehicle building games through Kerbal Space Program and Robocraft. I loved modding weapons into KSP and playing Robocraft years ago, but I felt like they were missing something. Then I got recommended From the Depths. This was something I always wanted, a game where you design vehicles block by block, and where all types of vehicles can participate in the same battle; be it spacecraft, submarines, aircraft or surface vessels. The selection of different shaped blocks limits your design choices only a little, and the ability to create "decorations" or "mimics", which are collision-free meshes of blocks for decoration, is one of the coolest decorating features I've seen in any building game. The wonderful way of designing weapons is something I had never seen before, and I fell in love with the multiple ways your craft interacts with the world of Neter and other planets with the physics model. While the skill floor and learning curve are a little unforgiving, the skill ceiling is in space and I'm still learning new things with the amount of hours I have put in. Not only that, but the FtD community is helpful and the game developers actively communicate with the players, and you can have the chance to submit designs for the several factions you play against in the campaigns! I absolutely recommend this game for anyone who likes sandbox vehicle-building games, sophisticated in-depth mechanics, varied weaponry and vehicle types and spending thousands of hours in a single game.
