So having played Tempest some, I decided to see what other people were saying about the DLC.

I'm glad people are enjoying it, but I feel like recommending DLC purely based on how it feels rather than how it plays is kinda unhelpful. Sure, the scenario of the Fomorians is interesting- but the actual gameplay is four different ships of very similar styles across every faction other than the specific naval faction. Doesn't help that it feels pointless trying to get involved in naval activity without going all-in with it, and there's so many badly balanced parts of the DLC- like the sea monster, which has cropped up in my local ocean every game so far; or the dust focal cannons, which for some reason do about a quarter of their listed damage for no apparent reason; or the endless supplies of Fomorian ships who will immediately take that facility you just did a quest to get on your side.

Even if the fluff of it is interesting- and honestly, this is the main reason I play Endless Legend, the worldbuilding is great- the gameplay isn't enough to carry it off.

I've never been one to play 4X games much, but this game is just so beautiful and immersing that when I decide to start up a game, I look at the clock and eight hours have passed.

Even if I lose all the time (which I do), I still love playing it.

Started playing, died to a paralysing poisonous boa. Tried again, died again within a minute. Went elsewhere on the map, died within a minute. Continued playing, got pretty severe eye strain from the glaring brightness of the map, which is apparently made of very thin supernovas.
