After beating this game and getting a 100% in it, the best way I can describe my expierience is "mixxed".

The first 5-10 hours of this game were honestly lovely. Game felt like it was made by inexpierienced people, which had its quirks, like some stuff being randomly out of focus, some sound effects being x10 times louder, animations looking janky as if made for some fan-made creepypasta stuff, but the gameplay seemed decent, so it wasnt annoying, but charming.

But slowly over time, these quirks festered into annoyances, as the gameplay expierience became less enjoyable. And its difficult for the gameplay not to turn bad, because there are multiple layers of just terrible design flaws, that I'll try to explain in points:

1. Soul system in this game - Games like Castlevania: Aria of Sorrows, or Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, allow the player to equip 3 souls from killed enemies to get different skills or buffs. Meanwhile this game takes a different approach, where each enemy's soul can be equipped on your items grid, which honestly was pretty fun at the start, as there's a lot of different passives you can get from these souls. BUT by the middle of this game this system was unbearable, as there's 200+ souls, where you have to go search for the one you want. One. By. One. With only 4 ways of sorting them, Newest Found, By Monster ID, Smallest and Biggest Grid. And if you dare to remove a soul from your item, when you already found a new one that you'd like to equip in the inventory, the game sends you back up to the highest one, so you have to go looking ONCE AGAIN. And this system straight up sucks when you consider that you have 5 items with grids+3 characters with each one having unique items, AND ON TOP OF THAT you find upgreades extremely often, so you have to fiddle with this system hundreads of times, which is draining with each attempt. So by the end of the game I just used Cacti and Bloody Maids in my gear, because looking for something else than a good stat stick felt painful.

2. Skills - Skills from books in this game break any enjoyment from combat, because instead of trying to learn how to space well and move during combat, you just spam using skills due to how absurd their damage is. Flamethrower move for example, which was so powerful, that it could easily 3-shot bosses, that could take literally 5+ minutes with my setups. The skills are a nice idea, especially with the parry moves, but they're so ungodly overtuned, that I dont remember doing anything but spamming them after, like boss 5.

3. Secret Walls - They hold perma stat upgreades and skill books, which is awesome. I thought that there's gonna be a soul that allows you to easily spot them. Welp, never saw one of those, so instead of enjoying exploration, I always used the character with fastest and longest attacks, while hugging every possible wall in existence, just so that I wouldnt feel FOMO of not gaining powerful stats, or overpowered abilities.

4. Characters - For some reason, this game has 3 main characters, which you can switch between, a bit like in Genshin Impact. But unlike in Genshin, where you have characters mostly supporting one DPS, here you just play with 3 Main DPS's, which have virtually no synergy. And while technically you could build one character to reduce resistances for another character, there's no point in doing that, because you could just have the character doing damage reduce the resistances by themself. Its painful to build all of them, it feels pointless to have multiple characters, it makes the inventory system worse, I dont get it.

5. Items Grid - Each item has a grid system for souls, but often majority of these slots are locked, and the cost of unlocking them is ABSURD! Each slot costs the crafting materials of an item+gold, and it scales with each unlocked slot. So lets say we have an item with a potential 4x4 grid, where only 2x4 is unlocked by default, we'd need to pay 8 times the items value, if it didnt scale, to unlock the rest, tf??? This system makes majority of boss souls unusuable, and the only point when you start to unlock these, is when they only cost gold in the endgame, and by then you also dont constantly upgreade your items, so you can easily invest in them.

6. Art - I think some of the 2D art in this game is AI generated, which just left off this iffy vibe, whenever they appeared.

7. Story - Story's meh, cant say too much about it. But the game constantly tries to be funny, so its impossible to take anything seriously.

Prolly missed some things, as I barely remember anything about this game, but overall I'd recommend playing something else from this genre, this game is not worth spending time on.

Game's short and fun, but I wish it was more of a normal game, rather than being so inspired by Idle games.

After the prestige, the game progress becomes really wonky, where its more valuable to constantly re-do the same locations and reset, rather than actually progress the game, as you basically get the same amount of talent points, but without the hassle of it being harder to get. Which spoils the expierience, as you just re-do the exact same thing, until you're suddenly so powerful, that you go to the end of the game without any obstacles, instead of it being a journey, like it was up to the 1st reset.

So overall the game's fine, but I feel like it easily could've been way better.

Dont think I'll ever play another game, where I'll spend 2 IRL days crafting, without progressing the story or doing anything else. I swear, this 999 Qual item is the last one, my party member might have 1000+ atk, but its really necessary for these enemies that get one shotted-

I have a death inside my body, and it will outlive me. But the future will always belong to those who take it.

Awesome game! The first couple runs are so overstimulating that its impossible to keep track of what is actually going on, but after some time, this game becomes pure gold with how fast and difficult it is.

The story is surprisingly real and depressing, which I didnt expect, but it does show a real picture of how burnout can affect anyone working creatively, and how its easy to forget about positive stuff, by only focusing on the negativity. The ending was really nice to see, after drowning in all the negativity.

Short and satisfying to play, but has a weirdly grindy end.

Hope to see some updates, because I'd love to play more of this game.

Early Access Review
When I've first seen the fact that the Shapez game is getting a sequel, and that its gonna be in 3D, I must say, I was really sceptical, but after playing this game, I'm really happy that I was wrong.

I'm only at the level 4 Normal factory, where you unlock the fluids and coloring stuff, so I havent fully expierienced the game yet, but even then, I feel comfortable in reviewing this game.

This game added up to 3 layers of floors, where iirc the 1st game only had 1 floor, and that makes building so incredibly fun to make. Also all the quality of life things like telling you how efficient your system is based on how many items are going through the belts, the easy way to get rid of all the things that were used to build a shape that you no longer need, having basically an infinite amount of space to make anything you need. Its honestly incredible. I'm not too good at this type of game, but it makes even me want to be as efficient and expand as much as I can.

I'm reviewing this game in its early access, so I will mention things that I think should be added/complaints:
1. Adding an option to zoom into mouse, instead of the middle of the screen when going from space mode to the closer mode - This is honestly the biggest complaint I have with this game. It just feels extremely awkward to zoom into anything you need to. Where I had to increase the camera speed, or I'd go insane.

2. Graphics options - The game recommended High graphics for anyone with 1070 Ti or above, and I have 3070. My computer sounded like it was a space shuttle with those settings. So, idk, maybe list the recomended specs to be a bit highier.

But yeah, this game is a banger! Strongly recomend it.

*Edited out a part where I said that there should be something like Shift+Control to de-select a bunch of things at once, but discovered that you can hold Alt to do that, so that complaint was wrong.

I can see why people prefer to work from home, instead of going into the office.

Game's really short and sweet. Puzzles arent hard, and the story isnt too complex, I really liked it. And the fact that its free is kinda wild, cant wait to see more games from these devs.
