Despite having owned this game since shortly after launch (10 years? No idea) It always draws me back.
I love the base building, with endless scope - build a bat cave, a skyscraper, a wood cabin, an intricate castle, your own version of the great Sphinx of Gaza with a rear entrance to drive your 4x4 into, the list is endless. Make sure you defend it with passive design layout, wood spikes, or electrically wired in systems.
Zombies never cease to scare the living ♥♥♥♥ out of me at unexpected moments.
Online public lobbies vary, but find a goodun and it pretty much becomes an MMORPG, the only downside being that servers tend to have to wipe and start over after a month or 2.

I was mega pumped for this game when I heard about it, Its Star Wars Galaxies resurected, with a different theme. SWG was complained about for being broken by a lot of people, but I always loved it, and just took advantage of inbalances. Life ain't fair, adapt.

I love the geniunly sandbox style of Divergence on line, I felt at home, like the good ol' days of SWG. with one of the updates, my GFX card no longer worked, I was so keen to play, I bought a new PC, and carried on. The mining, the crafting, the complexity, the vastness, and the frustrating at times, but realisticly brutal style of 100% PvP, like real life, god doesn't stop people doing bad things, other people do.

I put a lot of hours into this game, there were a lot of sour, bad reviews, I'm more into looking for the positive side, telling the whiners to 'man up', offering sollutions and help to other players. I always wanted this game to be what it promised to be, I always had a feeling it never would. Always something broken, not working, not loading, floors meaning you could lose a lot of hours of work, with no sympathy or reprise from the dev's. I feel a bit like the proverbial donkey, chasing a carrot on a stick.

Regreatably, I've resorted to whining. I have to obide by Steam rules, being relevant, constructive and polite. I can't use Abusive language, including swearing. If only the Devs followed these rules. I hope I'm ok in saying, I sent 3 messages for help, through the official Social networking page, the first 8 months ago. No reply - understandable, Devs are busy, perhaps they don't use the personal messaging, a 'sorry, can't help' would even have been appreciated. I ranted on the page today, not a usual trait of mine. Lo and behold I get a personal reply to my 8 month old messages, unpublishable here, as it breaches the polite, the abusive and the swearing rules. My subscription is about to be cancelled. As is my Girlfriend's.
