Pretty much the best baseball game since MVP Baseball 2005.
And you can customize your players to look like Manny, so who cares about MLB licencing?

It's really "more of the same", the same being a fantastic combat system and tons of places to explore. The story is vaguely entertaining and the game is overall less polished than its predecessors (quite a few bugs around).
So yes if you liked the other 2, but I wouldn't have paid full price for it.

If you were born before 1985:

Think of Harvest Moon where you could relax and follow your own pace instead of having to optimize every move..

If you were born after 1985:

Think of Farmville that would be fun to play.

Great fun, looks and sounds great, but probably one of the few games I would recommend playing using Cheat Engine right from the beginning. The insanely low drop rates make the (otherwise wonderful) crafting system very tedious if you don't.
I did use it and still needed 30 hours or so to finish the game (30 hours of pure delight, I must say).

Fantastic game, glorious soundtrack, but don't expect any kind of sequel or remake.
The nostalgia factor plays a role, but mostly in the small references, not really in the overall visuals or the gameplay.
DDN plays more like a fighting game than a beat them up, some good execution will be required and button mashing won't get you very far.
I think most players complaining about "clunky controls" just got wrong expectations, I find the controls very responsive, but the gameplay requires more anticipation, pattern recognition, timing and accuracy than reflexes or thumb speed.

Fun, sometimes challenging game.
Sure, it's Flash and looks like it could be on Kongregate, but at least you don't get annoying ads so I sure don't mind financing the effort.
