The DCS series are the best combat simulators out there, and this module is free so you've got nothing to lose. Don't be scared, you might have seen those A 10C startup videos and thought that was too much for you but there's a series of aircraft with simplified systems that are super easy to srtat flying (you start them pressing two buttons) but hard to master.

The world module is a perfect initiation in the DCS series as it offers those two experiences, the Su 25T has simplified systems while the TF 51D features all the real aircraft systems and clickable cockpit. If you are interested in the Flamming Cliffs 3 DLC I recommend learning to fly the Su 25 as it is a similar experience and of course if you are interested in the P 51 or the other WWII fighters try the TF 51.

My only complain would be some of the training missions for the Su 25T (the TF 51 doesn't have), they are very low quality videos from FC2. This isn't a big deal because it does feature a lot of interactive training missions, but the FC3 DLC planes only have those low quality videos which are a bit of a pain to watch. The rest of modules I have (A10C and P 51D) doesn't suffer from this and come with lots of step by step training missions.

Couple of suggestions:

- Play with a HOTAS or at least a Flight Stick, a gamepad works but it's not recommended.

- Do the training missions and pay attention, it's easy if you follow the instructions.

- Start with the Su 25T, flying the TF 51 requires experience.

- Create your custom keybings, mapping whichever buttons you feel you are using more to the Joystick.

- At the begining you might feel overwhelmed by the controls, focus first on flying the aircraft and leave the weapon systems alone until you can take of, land and navigate without problems.

- If you still feel this is too much, theres a GAME MODE under options, which gives you arcade style controls and radar, check the manual for further instructions on how to use it.

Overall amazing sim, 10/10 would crash again.
