This is for my homies who are in countries that are not allowed to have a PSN and sony allowed htem to sell to those countries. A VPN/work around isn't a valid defense for this.

12900k 4090 and 128g of ram and crashing my pc non stop menu or getting to character creation. Unacceptable for a 70 dollar game. Yes I reinstalled drivers fully and deleted all userdata of the game to get past shader bug and verify/reinstalled.

The amount of crashing is unacceptable one of the largest AAA companies putting out this game in it's state. Not even going to go into the game itself.

9.5/0 for me some bugs and fight designs kept it from being a 9.9/10 for me

So after dlc 6 I came around to finally edit my review. I'm sure many have seen reviews on the combat and depth and comparisons good or bad for this and bg3 so my review will echo most of those points. I recommend expanded dialogue/slides along with toybox to allow multiple romances if doesn't bother you and it doesn't end up weird. Also to allow non present party members to comment on dialogue since it's a long game. Might as well make the experience better no? Also be careful using instant events in toybox you can break military/leadership/diplomacy/logistics council events.

Wrap Up:
Where it will differ is that I rate both games as a 9.0-.5 for me but wotr surprisingly wraps up their ending much cleaner than a majority of crpg ends. I didn't have any unanswered questions because I went for the secret end with expanded ending mod (the quality side by side might as well be official when I looked them over) so that was a very pleasant surprise. This also applies to angel/azata end so depending how you excel in your campaign your mileage will vary.

Flow:
Act 1-3 are high points while 3 can be a bit of a slog and 4 is a... drag for the start but it picks up half way like it just keeps the highs highs and at worst medium highs past the half way point. City acts are usually a drag in crpgs but this isn't a spoiler as you'll forget or not understand what I mean. Act 5 isn't long and only one companion's final quest got the short end of the stick for final act cutting. DLC6 is the mass effect citadel dlc and isn't long but feels again some va's weren't given some proper direction otherwise their conclusions with the expanded dialogue/ending slides mod is worth it if yo uare romancing/fixing them.

Combat:
Gonna be real for your sanity skip inevitable excess and midnight isles or do them at the end of act 4 and get a randomizer mod so you can see those loot if you're lucky. They aren't bad but there is too many fights and while fun to mess with I think these dlcs are fine but if you are going for a completionist it adds to the play time. Combat is satisfying with music to help carry it through and the effects can be gorgeous at times. While rtwp can be daunting you'll end up using it more than turn base once you get rolling with your powers.

Companions/characters:
Honestly the romance since the time frame is a year plus (king maker is a few years) feels more organic. All but 2(3 if you aren't a angel ;_;) characters you can fix and one of the isn't really bad themselves just pragmatic and the real one. I honestly couldn't bring myself to kill off characters same as bg3. They just added too much to the story.

Bugs: I only ran into two annoying ones one of them gamebreaking and the other enjoyment.
DLC 6 has a fight tournament that if you have final stand/die hard the fight locks since they have to die with a debuff. Can be worked around but annoying nonetheless. I

It's a kind of messy review but it was more on the mundane parts that help a long game go through. If you loved BG3 and expecting the same production and full va you will be disappointed but if you don't mind these and enjoyed crpgs and story driven games this might be a good one for you. The budget only shows in act 5 but important stuff 97% of the time gets VA. While there is a bit of text there isn't anywhere as much as lore/text dump as poe which is great game in it's own right. Consequently compared to kingmaker you'll probably google some stuff from the wiki and Archives of Nethys since for w/e reason outside the crusade battles they removed bestiary.
