A breath of fresh air in the "arena shooter roguelite" mini-genre - changing enemy spawns from "constantly pouring in from off-screen" to "manually activated by the player as they navigate the area" makes all the difference. I also like that the meta progression system (buying permanent upgrades that you start with) doesn't give you enough points to spec into everything - you have to pick how to allocate your points in each tree based on what you're trying to lean into.
That said, while this is an excellent foundation, the game in its current state is a bit barebones: there are only two characters, both of which pull from the same pool of upgrades, and only one arena/game mode. Excited to see where it goes from here!

Love Vermintide 2 but hate the devs and also kind of miss Left 4 Dead? Play this game.

Beat a dungeon boss but broke both arms with no way to heal them, hobbled back towards town while drinking to mitigate the pain, got attacked by wolves, staggered into the town square drunk out of my mind, vomited, and lapsed into a coma. 10/10
