A lot of fun, worth the 300 hours so far!

Well, having played it for 1337 hours now, might be a good time to write a recommendation...

Yeah, buy it.

This is a great game, even though all these years. Would highly recommend to anyone who likes the idea of RTS & Hack 'n' slash all in one to some awesome music to get the adrenaline going! 23 hours with only the last 3 hours showing they started to run out of ideas and feels more like a chore, but the first 20 hours is amazing!

Censorship clarification: You might notice the word 'Patriarch' is muted during talking. This is because it actually replaced the word 'Pope' (and some other religious term) for the US version eventually and that is the version we got.

I consider this a rough jewel.

It has a great theme to it. The atmosphere is unnerving, just like it should be. There are a lot of different types of bosses almost all of them giving you the feeling of, if you die: "Okay, that was completely my fault and not the game being unfair". Probably just one exception to that one.

The reason it's rough is the gameplay which feels a bit lacking. It feels uninspiring and you can feel at times that they had some great idea here and there but never really did much with it.

It's also pretty hard so if you're not the type who enjoys that, it might not be for you. For those who likes the challenge: I do recommend it! Just beware that it is lacking in some areas.

After spending some good time with this thing, I can safely say: I -love- the ideas of this game... but execution is what matters and this one failed quite badly on that. I'll try to stick to 2 problems.

1: "Korean MMO" style. I think that basically says enough - you'll be grinding a lot... but you COULD pay for premium and grind much faster than the rest AND get an advantage! Though calling it an MMO is questionable because it's more of a lobby game at the core...

Not to mention you cannot even talk with the latest patch in 'local' if you're under level 30. You can only talk in "world" and guess what: You need to use consumables for that! Consumables to TALK in an MMO!

2: Really bad matchmaking. Currently there are 2 brackets: Level 1-29 (Though you will start the game off with some tutorials so you will gain some levels before you even join in for that) and then a level 30-60+ (from what I understand, up to level 200). This makes it pretty darn unfair. Yeah, at 30 you can use the the top gear... which will take -forever- and you will be far into the 60+ territory for that. Yeah, at 60 you can't gain more stats... but you can still earn more abilities, and more advanced abilities, compared to a 30. You'll even have such good troops that you can lay waste to anyone at lower level and they stand no chance.

Honestly, all they had to do was add in an extra bracket. 1-29, 30-59, 60+.

And a bonus: The censoring is almost funny. You can't even say the word "bad" without it turning into ***. If you try to write update, you'll get u***ate. And of course, the word 'censored' is censored.

Without a doubt, one of the best FPS games I've played in maaany years. Guess there's some amusement in it because this was made on a 20 yeard old engine... I suppose that goes to show that they really did nail the FPS genre back then!

This game is tons of fun! It's a really unique concept - over the top view and turn based combat, but you control it with an app from your phone/tablet. Not just that, but all the information of your character, your inventory - even your character's thoughts are displayed there, which is great to keep information to yourself without the rest playing with you, knowing.

The only downside I can think of is the fact that, sadly, they quit developing this game - so it will never be finished. But even so, it has 3 fun episodes and an arena mode. If you have some friends locally; tell them to just download the App and play with you!

While I'm usually sceptical about early access games... boy, am I glad I decided to buy this! Thanks, Civvie!

The game is tons of fun. Sometimes I have a hard time enjoying rogue-like games because the RNG can often change the game into situations it's just no fun - but so far, every stage I've been on, it has always felt like it's pure skill involved, and the RNG doesn't get in the way at all. Keep up the good work, Blazing Bit Games!

Edit: Now the game is fully out and it's still super fun. Gets a bit boring around the time it spams you with "Industrial hallways" but once you're past that, it's all good again!

It's really hard to rate this game. On one hand it is a lot of fun and it's great to play these characters that you grew up with whether they are good guys or bad guys. Yet having to be in a 3vs3 can be really annoying and just not as much fun as 1vs1 which you can only do in custom mode.

The reason I am downvoting this, however, would be 2 reasons.

1: It's unstable. It crashes a lot and even when in a game, I've had a situation where it lagged and stuttered through the whole thing - and the the game ended because of these issues. Because of this, I earned a loss, rather than that it wasn't counted in.
2: The timer. Really annoying to play the offline mode and try out the "Core" game mode but because the timer went out, it's a loss. Really annoying when you're near the end of the gauntlet, despite that the enemy core barely had any health left.

If they could just fix the first problem, I'd consider voting this up. Until then... nope.

This is by far my favorite game in a long time now - and absolutely the best VR game. If you want to get a proper feeling of mowing down your enemies, then this is for you.

And also if you like Mount & Blade and want a VR version, you've come to the right place. Just look up some videos on the upcoming Campaign mode and you'll see what I mean!
