This game is amazing - I have over 55 hours in the demo for this game. Definitely pick up the demo and give it a try. The game has tons of combinations to try for a run. Easily worth the early access price.

So many options! Can spend hours dreaming up character builds.

Has some bugs, but no crashes for me (though some have complained about this on forums). Way more stable than the first Pathfinder game by owlcat, which I also loved.

Some hotfixes and QoL stuff through updates or mods and easily will be one of my most played games.

Enjoying the world and feel of the game. Excited to see where it goes. However, this is EA, and is a pretty short experience for the main quest. If you're wanting something longer I'd wishlist and pick it up when released.

Consider this a thumbs sideways for now...

Like the mana system in the game - solves the early game mana screw that many ccgs run into. However, this system often leaves you with not much to do late game, as you constantly discard cards; hands feel empty after 5 or 6 rounds. Some cards allow you to draw others as parts of effects, so it can be avoided, but general critique here is that there needs to be an exceleration of cards later in the rounds to keep things interesting.

No game looks like anything in the screenshot, with a hand full of cards and tons of creatures on the board (which either more card drawing options or a system standard of extra draws in late game would fix).

The art is awesome, and there are quite a few features, even just one core set in. Some of the cards do have art placeholders, but largely high quality stuff in game.

The matches for pvp are currently less than 20 seconds for constructed. But the neat 2v2 system I've had over 4 minute waits for players in peak hour matching.

The biggest negative I have (beyond empty feeling hands late game), is that there just isn't much to do once you finish the storyline and first set of dailies. Granted, it is free up until that point, but as it stands, the game almost encourages coming back after 3 days when the dailies have filled in - and it feels like a mistake to encourage less frequent logins.

I have not matched in pvp against someone who I felt had every card in the game already, so matches were winnable even when I lost. On the flip side, as is common with the free to play games, it feels a bit like you have to slug through weeks of having the deck you are stuck with, rather than truly work toward one you actually want to play.

Summary; pick it up as it is free, but it needs a bit of polish before it can take on some of the heavier hitters in the genre.

Sadly, while I like quite a few things about the game... giving this a downvote. I was leery about having to trapse aboveground before starting this, but knew it going in. What I wasn't expecting, was being forced to go above ground *before having the ability to build traps* (evil currency) - meaning you can't get to a safe point when out roving. The trap building system also turned out to be pretty tedious, in that they take so damned long to build and implement.

I got more out of this game in early access than I get from fully released titles. The company is committed to squashing some of the release bugs, and know the game will continue to evolve (from something already great).

Game is extremely tedious.* **

*Everything has durability - the axe you use to chop trees, a fishing pole, cooking stove (what ♥♥♥♥♥♥ stove only gets 100 uses?), butcher's knife, etc.

*The auction house (market place) has minimum and maximum prices for each item, so it is more like a lottery than truly bidding on the items you want.

*There is extremely limited trading between characters, so much of the economy runs off of cash shop items being sold on the auction house.

*Areas in the game are separated - you can link up resource nodes and send people to work. It is neat. However, they are restricted by region - so stuff made in one city can't be used in the next. You can transfer it... but yet again more tedium.

*Pets have actual uses, this is great! However, good luck getting one if you don't use the cash shop. Want the best pets? you can breed them... by buying more pets on the cash shop.

*Overlay gear, the kind which is normally only cosmetic, provides stat bonuses. Better get out your wallet.

*There are a lot of missing tooltips and explanations in game. Veterans of the game love it, because they can act accomplished for having already compensated for extremely poor in-game details.

*Game is disappointingly easy in early levels... am told this improves toward end levels, but what seems like an impressive combat system is ruined, imo, because of zero actual pve challenge early game. Combat is more of a "gets in the way while trying to use my frail axe on this tree."

**Game is probably great if you're willing to sink tons of cash into it. Be prepared to spend tons of hours doing boring things only to realize there is only more of the same ahead.

Cannot recommend in current build. Pointer error crash screwed my playthrough after about 20 turns.

PvP is great, PvE is pretty meh.

Tried both Overwatch and Battleborn... like Battleborn much better. Every match has a sense of character progression, and the helix allows you to tailor your character to the match.

Certainly worth the $40.00 sale, but $60.00 was probably too much on launch.

Actually enjoy the gameplay on this one, though exploring the provinces can be a bit tedious. Reason for downvote is that the game frequently crashes after battle resolution (transition between loot phase and world map) - with multiple leaders especially. Pretty unplayable, and my rig has no problem with games that have higher performance requirements.
