They changed it from beta from being a fun Rocket League type sports game to a game I can only play with 2 of my friends. Absolute travesty that they ruined the game. Maybe I'll consider once they bring that back, but I don't understand this move at all. Feel betrayed and lied to. Don't waste your money and don't believe the bots upvoting this game.

*edit
They have added 6v6 back finally. Don't know why this wasn't there at the start, Good game again.

BIG Twilight Imperium player in college. Then, weirdly, college ended and it suddenly became difficult to gather 5-8 people with 10 free hours. Stellaris is the answer to a non-college player being able to easily access a similar experience at the touch of a button.

Great hack'n'slash with excellent ambiance. Nothin more to say, you know what it is.

A game that feels like a "live action board game." Got me feeling like a Twilight Imperium/ Catan come to life scenario. Much fun to be had if you're the type to be had'in fun much.

This game pleases the ape part of my brain that needs to see Space Marines kicking down doors, different levels of Imperial clout word dueling each other, slow-mo cutscene of Space Marines throwing a frak, and shiny impractical gothic ships warping in and out.

The sounds are also all spot on even more than the imagery. Every bomb you throw, every step in Terminator armor, every round fired by the bolter, all *chef's kiss* The voice acting is passable like an experienced D&D group with a DM who was "in theatre." The dialogue itself is very 40k indulgent and nothing sounded out of place (to me).

The gameplay is... well... turn-based combat. You utilize the environment, min/max builds, and occasionally restart a mission because like Fire Emblem death is a permanent scenario in Chaos Gate. No one but children should play easier than "ruthless." Ruthless difficulty feels like what normal should be.

In short, if you are a 40k fan and played Advanced Wars, XCOM, or Fire Emblem (and found them agreeable to your gaming palate), then you will enjoy your dollar spent.

Excellent game thus far with a seemingly boundless amount of content and systems. Some claim it is "pay to win," but really it's "pay to not wait." You can't pay in gems to kill a raid boss or a PvP opponent, gotta do the mechanics/outplay. Don't be fooled by other's surface level review and hot take.

Most of the time I figure "Riot can't get away with this," and I have to concede that "yes they can." Unfortunately in this game, they didn't make a CLEAN getaway. Story (sort of), artwork, and voice acting are all top notch, but that is what I've come to expect from Riot media. The game falls short on the small details that make a game seamless. Solid 7/10 still.

1: Quest marks on the map are a joke at times. Particularly I was just on a quest and it says in the top Left to "Return to the Drowned Port," AND the quest marker was at the Drowned Port, but that dang quest needed to be completed in a completely different zone and was not even marked when I got to the correct spot. Happened with a few quests, and is an annoying time sink that disrupts the flow of play as I take to the internet to figure it out.

2: The tutorials are a joke. Walls of text that tell you vs. showing you. Paying the VAs a little extra to voice the tutorials would have given it "personality" and would have felt more complete. Once you get a hang of it no big deal, but the initial "training" could hardly be passed as such.

3: Auto-save points are too far and few. I stopped playing for a couple days because I had completed around 2 hours of content and then died having to replay all of it. There should be more reasonable auto saves since there isn't a quick save button to keep you in the flow of the game. Repeating large chunks is annoying. Give me a quick save button or better auto saves.

P.S. Shoutout to their cameo.
P.S.P.S I want Illaoi playing linebacker on my football team. GUNS

Developers still love their own game and update constantly. I've restarted too many times to count with different groups of people and it still gets me every time. Definitely a game to have when you and your friends need a break from whatever "main game" you are playing.

This game exists in moments. I highly recommend not spoiling anything for yourself to "min/max" because each new encounter, each new upgrade all feels complete to the experience. I'm currently 130 hours into the game and it hasn't slowed down so far. I've paid more for much less. 10/10 Please keep updating and making it more polished!
