"First they came..." and "For whom the bell tolls" are two quite lovely poems with some good lessons

A further good story goes as follows:
A man fleeing from a tiger jumps down a cliff and managed to catch ahold of a root of a wild vine.
Looking up the tiger remains, stalking and looking down upon him.
Looking down all he sees is yet another tiger, waiting to eat him.
As the vine slowly breaks apart the man spots nearby a strawberry growing against all odds.
Nurtured by the sun.
He reaches out, one hand still one the vine, and he plucks it.
It was delicious
