Great story and great mechanics. Dying actually makes sense in this game and killing a horde of orcs makes you feel like a god.

If you love history and intrigue, this game is the game for you! Also it helps if you have a lot of free time because if the former is true Crusader Kings II will eat up all your free time. It's highly immersive and addictive and not to mention a lot of fun.

On the downside Crusader Kings is a lot of micro-management as, amongst other things, you try to wed off that genius person in your court to another courtier from another land to "breed better people" which you can then marry off with your ruler or your sons. Personally I enjoy the power to rule over other people's lives, but that's me.

The things I enjoyed most was being the king and even queen at one point of Ireland and being a Viking with the dlc that allows that. Raiding is just so much fun and you can have tons of concubines too.
