If you'd like a proper faerie tale game --as in not the cutesy stuff?-- this is definitely the game for you.
Unique game mechanics, interesting story.. and ah the pretty, the creepy, and the deadly that are the Fae.
(Sort-of side note: I ran ran like crazy the first time I so much as caught a glimpse of Tom lmao!)

I still haven't gotten myself to the end proper, or for that matter my first ...death? But this is one of the more interesting games I've played, period. Pretty much my only gripe is the potion shop mechanics.. making stuff there past a simple powder hurts my brain; especially when using a controller.
Otherwise I absolutely love it. 9/10 and definitely one of my all time fave games.

Started in Early Access as I've been a supergiant fan since way back when Bastion dropped, and still love this game to little pieces. As always with supergiant, the music, characters and their VA are amazing; game play is fun and easy to learn.

I enjoy this game way too much lol!
Survival, Building, town management, questing: all good.
After finally trying the Oxford map: I can say that what few bad reviews that mention it, are over stated from my perspective.
The job board and tutorial stuff being in or around the starting central town definitely is an improvement from the campaign map btw! I used to dread running up to grab king's quests.. lol.

The only downside for me at the moment, is the small range of decorations for your houses... and maybe the lack of dye/paint?

Civs meets Warcraft 3 with pure viking era flair...?
Yeah I love this game already, first day in; an eight hour binge on my day off.
I adore the fact you get aesthetic changes for playing the game, rather than having an in-game store.
Some of the progression can be a little rough early in until you understand your clan, but it's easily manageable for a newer player, and winning can be really satisfying after managing your clan properly.

So many civs to play with, so many ways to win. 800 hours in, I still actively play: and still haven't gotten all of the achevs. I honestly have very little negative to say about Civ 6. Maybe that cultural victory takes extremely long like it should? XD
With monthly challenges, new scenarios and new leaders added regularly, it's hard to get bored of discovering new favorites from the way you play to who you play as, maps and so much more.

100 hours in, after playing EA prior to drop and I have to say: this is one of the addictive ones.

I hadn't played since the last major board update, and ended up playing almost the entirety of my two days off.
Great game if you're a fan of Stardew, or Chinese Immortal Fantasys, or especially both. The art is well done and memorable, your ability to customize your space pretty wild as you get up there, and the varied lands you visit are diverse; while building the sect and your relationships feels like an actual accomplishment as you literally raise it from the rubble building by building.

While there's fighting in the game, it's incredibly easy to manage with a keyboard (I haven't tried it with my controller ...yet: as I didn't want to relearn the control mapping after first playing with a KB in early access) and progression though sometimes a little confusing (especially around the foundation levels of cultivation); generally goes at a decent rate.

Honestly I have very few complaints or suggestions about how this game could be better. Tons of ways to change your look, pets, lots of things to plant, monsters to kill, places to explore and stuff to cook. (gawd are there a LOT of recipes from the kitchen to the alchemy forge, to the crazy amount of decorations in this game.)

I do wish you could get into bunny girl's world more quickly, and that there were animals???? Like.. actual cows etc.
Then again; looking at my exploration list now: I'm only MAYBE half way through what Immortal Life has to offer.. and haven't even gotten my superior tools other than the fishing pole..... so maybe there are? lol

Either way, big recommend over all.
PS - I am very happy to see the fairy mirror back after being gone for an age during EA!

Early Access Review
Been playing on and off for a while now (earlier early access lol) and the game is definitely improving from the last time I played!

PROS (so far)
1. More towns being on different islands was a good call (you have more reason to revisit them, for one).

2. Increased marks for materials is good.. as is the auto-marking for your own stuff (beds, boats etc).

3. New pet system isn't over-complicated, thank god. I love ark I do, but please never change how conveniently you can tame critters in Len's.

4. I love the new upgrade system for gear, and the new gear at Town shops.

5. Fast travel does make getting around a lot easier...!

6. The new ocean currents are much appreciated; they definitely help when travelling to a new island..

CONS (so far)
1. The maps need a serious update/revision, and maybe a buildable exit.. if not more exits: I was stuck in the mines for over a week of in-game time trying to find a way out lol! I do love that islands are linked by the mines: but the map needs some serious work; and telling what door goes where for the ones you can reach, would help too. Another good idea would be..

2. More differing biomes and or stuff in the mines?? Part of why getting stuck down there is a drag is because most of it is the same stuff on repeat until you get to the lava areas.

3. A way to see if I'm backtracking without hitting screenshot or build mode (aka better camera control.)

4. Town shops could use some auto-markers so we know what is where outside of the central island. Doscovered ocean currents could also use one to tell you which way it's flowing after discovery..

5. ..please add a targetting button though? Chasing deer in circles for backpack leather because sprint decides to go the wrong way is weird. X'D

OVER ALL:
A much more solid game than it was when I first started playing. I almost never get stuck any more (lol) don't get entirely lost in dungeons (yay for that) and the overall play has improved leaps and bounds from my initial play-throughs back when (lol lattice bugs and mob knot glitches). The diablo-esque battle system is a blessing, farming actually helps.. I could go on but; the negatives here outside of the maps issues are really small by comparison.. so definitely a positive review from me.
Looking forward to seeing how much more the game grows in the future.

This is.. the first mostly negative review I've ever written, and I feel kinda bad because Potionomics has potential.. as an unfinished game.

The simple fact of the matter is; it doesn't feel finished at all; or if it is? It feels much more like a prettied up zynga game for your phone, rather than a finished, well planned game. The characters, writing and art in particular are all it has going for it at the moment: while the actual gameplay is so heavily dependent on RNG ingredients, and then literal math problems of sticking the numbers in those ingredients in a pot to try and make what you need in a FAR too short period if you get crappy rolls or vitamin combos incapable of producing those necessities for that progression.

Add in that there is literally not enough time in the days to get what you need done (and only 9 days per cycle, AND no way to pick potions up from brewing the night prior before each competition) and well.. Gameplay run times are incredibly short and can literally disappoint you repeatedly as a result of all that.

If you're looking for a game to teach your kids math though; this is probably the game you want to give them... if they can stand it any other way but visually.

Again, gorgeous art and characters.. it's just a shame Potionomics ultimately puts it to waste in the actual product. I sadly have to say that, for once, this game is definitely not worth it's price. There's not enough to the game otherwise, worth investing in.

Early Access Review
Great game so far! There are a few bugs at this stage, but given how early this access is they're few as far as I can tell. Mostly things that can be gotten around just by reloading the game or restarting a commission. Most issue I've had is just the load screen; especially going into Eufala Ruins. One or two commissions not registering items being made etc for hand over BUT only two of those through three months of commissions otherwise. I loved (and still love) Portia; and so far this one is shaping up to be just as good. Still needs a lil tweaking? and more stam items for your house etc, but nothing game breakingly bad yet. My only real complaint? I wanna romance Fang but his dialogue etc is so limited..
