This game has a gimmick. There is a narrator you can interact with by refusing to do what he says or doing the opposite. The problem is, that this involves listening to long monologues and sometimes just waiting for a set amount of time until you can proceed in a certain way.

This might be interesting in the beginning, but it soon becomes extremely tiring. Especially if you have to retry sections of the game, because you died or you want to try a different route. You still have to wait or listen to the monologue. There is no way to skip it.

The gameplay is fine but nothing outstanding.

This is a fantastic game, that brims with style and has a simple but fun combat system.

It uses absolutely gorgeous comic-book style artwork in place of cutscenes. The 3d art used in actual gameplay is simpler but still really good looking.

The gameplay is a mix of brawling and very light platforming. The combat system is simple, intuitive and satisfying. I quickly got into the flow of doing combos without really trying. And you can steal your opponent's weapons to mix it up. The game is not very hard for the most part, but the boss fights are challenging and took me several attempts.

The English localisation is a little rough around the edges, but that never broke my immersion in the game.

It's fairly short and can be completed in under ten hours, which makes it a good fit if you don't have too much time to commit.

This is a nice, small and simple roguelike. The mechanics are quick to grasp and intuitive while managing your human/vampire form and keeping track of the day/night cycle feels fresh and unique. The game also offers you most of the information you need, so you don't have to rely on trial-and-error or research too much to find out how things work.

Thanks to the above, combined with super accesible controls, this game allows you to make informed decisions early on without having to spend hours figuring out the mechanics and learning the controls.

I wanted to like this game, but it is just too clunky and frustrating. There is a nice feel and atmosphere to the game, so it might be enjoyable if you have the patience or time to play a game like this.
