Early Access Review
I would pay more for this game. Definitely worth the price tag even in early access

Played it first using KB+M and was having difficulties progressing. A few years passed and I picked up it again this time using controller. 10/10

It took 2 tries to get into and commit to this behemoth of a game. The controls are clunky, the graphics are dated, and the balancing of battles will have you frequently switching between normal and hard. But if you can look past the rough edges, you'll find a gem of a compelling and novel story, interesting characters, and an underground world that'll reward you for exploring every nook and cranny.
8.5/10.

4/5. Quite good.

Pros:
- More containers to lock-pick and search than you could ever dream of. Brain get dopamine.
- The numerous encounters and locations around the Dome are interesting, packed with context, lore, and often skill checks/combat.
- Scanning - getting rewarded with research points and also lore is such a brilliant game mechanic. Also scanning unknown relics to find out what they do is always exciting.
- All the companions seem to have a lot of character, and stand out from each other skill/combat wise.
- Several varieties of each weapon type's sub-type. Lots of weapons that you can upgrade, basically.
- NPC's - the NPC dialogue writing in this game is top-tier. Voice acting is solid in most places, horrible in a few places.
- Skills/Perks - well thought out progression. by the end of the campaign, I had all the trees I wanted maxed out.
- Quests - the majority were really cool and interesting.
- The Servosuit progression is fantastic. Reminiscent of fallout's power armor
- The world/story - pretty interesting overall. Made me keep playing.

Neutral:
- Combat. For the most part, pretty average. Right click enemy to find out what they're weak to - use that. done. Even tactical difficulty mode won't provide much challenge to people who play the genre frequently.
- The Survival System (hunger, thirst, fatigue, radiation). Pretty inconsequential. At no point was I in a situation where I couldn't tediously open up my backpack and eat some food or pop some pills. Kind of just a time waste. I could see this being a real con for people who don't collect/craft a bunch of supplies, though.
- Weapon upgrades - for the most part it was fun to find the right resources to upgrade. I just wish upgrading had a bigger impact on the weapon's actual stats. I do like that the weapon's visuals change as it upgrades in level.

Cons:
- You can't control where companions allocate skillpoints when they level. They don't get their own perks.
- Pick-pocketing/stealing is overpowered and it's too easy to get away with it.
- Final location was anti-climactic
- Some containers have a 2-3 second loading bar to finish searching them before you can loot it. Very tedious for someone who is compelled to search everything.

Conclusion: If you enjoy Fallout 1/2, wasteland2/3, Underrail, etc.. you'll enjoy this.

Who knew an open-world dark souls with jumping and horseback riding was just what the doctor ordered? It's not without its flaws though: PvP is a mess, the late-game has pacing issues, and there is shameless boss/enemy recycling. Despite the flaws, the visuals are gorgeous, the moment-to-moment gameplay is solid and satisfying, and raging at your badly-timed rolls only sometimes got old. I'd give it a solid 9/10.
