Amazing. This game is a masterpiece!

Beautiful game! only played a little so far but it runs smooth on my older AMD based rig from 2014. Looks beautiful and the graphical overhaul is perfect! I will update after another hundred hours but this is to combat all the hate MS seems to get from the community. They WILL fix known problems, just like they listened to the community and brought this awesome game to Steam, which is where I like to play my games.

An amazing work of art. The graphics stand up perfectly for any computer and battles are fluid and smooth. Tactics are true to the era and the money, political points and upgrade system for veteran soldiers, general, divisions and equipment makes the game feel fresh and vibrant and unique compared to other games that deal with the civil war.

If the game had a weakness, it would be that it punishes you too much for losing a battle, when you have been winning 90% of all your battles before. This does not seem realistic to me as you would not fire a general that wins 80-90% of the battles he fights.

Ignore the haters. Some people complain that the game AI cheats. I don't believe so. I have played and seen the AI makes mistakes and it's weakness is in not protecting the flanks at times. People also complain about skirmishers and cavalry feeling useless. Again, in this era, cavalry are NOT the dominant factor in warfare. They are great at scouting, flanking and running down cannons. Do't expect cavalry to be able to take on 2000 man brigades alone! If I had to agree with some, I would say that the skirmishers/sharpshooters can feel underwhelming but not useless

9.5/10- GET IT. You won't regret it one bit!

TL/DR Cautionary recommendation to buy BUT only if its on sale in it's current state of play.

After playing this game for close to 200 hours, I feel I can finally write an unbiased review for this earlyo access survival horror game you know at 7 Days to Die.

Pros: This game is fun. I throws you into a world where you start off wtih nothing but your bare hands to gather resources. You progress and are able to make stone tools, iron tools and eventually steel. I love the uprgradable feel to this game. The game is also customizable to your playstyle. Want running zomebies,. walking zombies, more structual resistance, booby traps, guns? Its all there for you to mess with. You can also enter "creative god mode" and build with unlimited resources to your hearts content. Exploring is also part of the fun. The prebuilt world of Navezgane is full of wonder, riches and death for you to uncover. Zombie bears and wolves are some of the scrariest things you can ever face in the dark.

Cons: BUGs, sever lag, time outs. Yes, I know, its early access and this is to be expected. The game is also meant more for single player than MP. However, at times when I was playing with a single friend online, the lag was unbearble to the point where it was no longer fun but a chore. Vehicles and drviing also need work, you can ramp into the clouds on a pebble and trash on the road seems to be made of kryptonite, stopping you in your tracks.

Final Verdict. 6.5/10 in it's current state. After 200 hours you will run out of content to explore, you will run out of upgrades to make. The bugs are horrendous when playing with a friend. There is no final ending to your story. You play until you are bored of the game, which can be in less than a week without a friend to play with. Even with this lackluster score, I would still buy this game however, ON SALE 50% or greater. It's alot of fun with a friend and I want to support these devs so they can finish this game. I will change my score when that happens. Final note, I did not buy this game. It was a gift from a friend if that makes a difference to you.

The game was fun when the servers were full back in 2013. Now the game is pretty dead. Sure, some crafting elements and survival elements have been added but overall, its still a boring walking simulator with zombies that can still walk through walls. I bought this game during the hype when it was selling thousands of copies a day back in 2013. That was my mistake. Don't buy it and give these guys another cent. Its a wasted cash grab shell of a game that will never be finished.

Where to begin? This game, this game is a real gem. A highly polished, master cut gem of a game. Not only does this game look stunning, it performs wonderfully. Fluid combat, gore, a deep story that gets you involved with Geralt of Rivia, evil villians, scary monsters roaming the world. And they are all gunning for you! I dont want to write a long review, that would take away precious time you have to play this game. But play it, play and get ready for one hell of an adventure!

I am an avid fan of WWII genre and RTS style games. If you fall into either one of those categories, then you must have this game. The graphics are beautiful, the teams and how they function feel like a combined arms type of warfare that anyone can get into. You will cower in fear when shells bounce of tanks that are coming your way. While some may say the game is unbalanced, that can be true if you are new. Certain factions are harder to play. Commanders also add a good mix of gameplay and you dont always see the same units and strategy all the time. I just wish there were more factions sometimes, like the Italians. As with many WWII games online, the Germans are over populated, but I guess everyone just wants to be a fascist lol. Would hilghy recommend for multiplayer with friends.

If you love RPG and want to become the hero of legend, then this game is for you! Great customization for character, agruably good story line, lots of territory to cover and loads of beasts to slay. You can also mod the game to fit your style and graphics upgrade. If you haven't played it and wish for a new adventure, give it a shot!

What can I say? One of the single greatest strategy games ever created. The graphics are good enough, but the gameplay in terms of creating and building a civilzation, competing against others, just makes this game a must have for those that love board games, history and have a whole lot of time on thier hands to get lost in the past. Highly recommended.

First off, this is my first Far Cry Game and I was drawn to it because I love survival and story based games like this. I am also an avid fan of history and minored in anthropology in college. I have always loved ancient and pre-history and the fact that a gaming company was willing to go the extra mile to create such an interactive world involving people of the stone age is a feat unto itself. For that I commend ubisoft. Now to the actual review.

Pros

Starting from the ground up, the world is absoultely gorgeous. I was able to run the game with a mix of very high and ultimate settings with my aging rig at an FPS rate of between 45-70 on a 27 inch monitor. It was very engrossing and I found it hard to stop playing due to the wonderful atmosphere.

Moving on, combat. Contrary to what people say, the combat was good but not stellar. I wish there were more otpions when it came to hand to hand combat but the array of pre-historic weapons was rewarding and fun for me. With all the upgrades, your short bow felt like a machine gun against your enemies. The death sequences from sneak attacks and kill steaks were also wonderfully gory and realistic.

I am also going to throw hunting in here. I am a hunter in real life and always dreamed of hunting mammoth. Getting to hunt mammoth in the game, especially helping your tribe bring down the Elder Mammoth quest and the blood tusk mammoth, was some of the most memorable parts of the game. I also enjoyed the quest challenges hunting the dangerous blood fangs and wolf pack. Deffinitly a strong part of this game.

Story line. The story was also good enough to like. People cite that it was shallow but we must remember that these were simple times and simple stories about hunting beasts, slaying enemies and praying to the gods. Culture and technology were in its infancy and the world was very brutal, bloody, and life was short. The game drives that home with the ample amounts of blood, guts, human and animal sacrifice and death. None of that is boring. The game also did not shy away from some nudity and women were topless in the game, which added to the realism of the era it was set in. Towards the end of the game, when I finally conquered all of the other tribes, I did feel a sense of peace and love for the tribe I was fighing for because of the engrossing nature of parts of the story.

Cons

These are personal gripes. The game was set in Europe during the ending ice age, yet we see multiple tribes of different humaniods that never existed at the time period, which would be some time around 10000 BCE. They decided on that date I am sure because farming was mentioned several times in the game and this would be right around the Neolithic Revolution (invetntion of farming). Neanderthals never existed at this time and the traits of a few of the tribe also exibit bits of African culture but I find that a hard buy. However, for the sake of game diversity, it was acceptable. This is a very mintor gripe.

Combat. I stated before that combat was a pro but we also see cons. The game could have implemented blocking of some sort for hand to hand combat, even taken a few more aspects from Assassins Creed but decided that simple swing mechanics were good enough. During combat, I also found that certain weapons were much better than others, which means that the game was imo a little imba. I found myself defaulting to the short bow and after researching steady hands, could snipe from some pretty extreme distances, landing headshots with ease. The spear was also, a very strong weapon in the game and uttery destroyed chiefs with one to two shots once upraded. Other weapons like the club were only really useful exploring caves as a torch. The owl was also laughable when dropping bombs on ememies and to me, took away from parts of the realism.

Story line. I loved the human aspects of the game, but found the animals storys while high off of blood soup and shrooms to be annoying and tedious. While some may have found it to be fun, I did not and tried to push past it as quick as possible.

Crafting. Crafting was meh. You collected stuff and put it together. Not much to it but you had a lot of things to choose from. It could have been more in depth but that might have become tedious.

Final Verdict. Good, memorable game, brave for trying something new but not stellar in a few ways. I am glad I bought the ultimate version with all DLC while it was on sale during the winter. I would not have paid full price for this game, but I never like paying full price. Get it when it is 50% off or over and it will truly be a great experience.

8/10, would burn topless women alive again.
