A sweet and heartwarming tale of raising a young Shoggoth and helping it grow and develop. Protect it from the horrible creatures that want to hurt and torture it. Very sharp controls with equally sharp teeth. Don't let the pixel graphics fool you: the game play is simple, but with a ton of tactics to try. Mouse and Keyboard or Controller, it is a delight to rampage through the facility.

Very straight forward and good at what it does. The devs are keeping it updated, and I'm making tons of YouTube videos with it! https://www.youtube.com/shamelessmayhem

Can't beat that price! Sketch something quickly, and you can export your stuff for any other bigger 3D program. Quick and simple, I just hope they update it! Here's a tutorial on how it works: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdjlWkdljxM2z4EU3ut76dCQvExkk2Jux

So having completed Maze Theory's new VR-only game "Doctor Who: The Edge of Time" I can give you my honest opinion, without spoilers.

TL/DR - If you like VR games, this was clearly designed with VR in mind from the ground up. If you like logic puzzle games, this has some good ones wrapped in a fun story. And if you like Doctor Who, this lets you be the Companion and save the day! It just needs more Flying the TARDIS.

SPOILER-FREE REVIEW

So to set the stage, I'm a fifty-year-old gamer with loads of game experience. I'm a Doctor Who fan, and am playing the latest VR games on a Valve Index. I loaded up this game with as few spoilers/previews as I could (barring the OST) and went into it with great hope. I was not let down. And if you were worried about it being too easy, as an experienced gaming veteran I still died like four times.

It kept the feeling of being a Companion, with access to the usual tools and toys. There were callbacks to some great Classic Doctor Who, and plenty of NuWho things and baddies to keep new fans engaged. The story was good, with all the usual tropes, and a lot of story delivered by the Doctor herself. One of my biggest worries was something that many Doctor Who fans can understand: great story, but can they stick the ending? Too many good stories get marred by clumsy conclusions. Don't worry about this here, it all ties up well in the end. Not sure about replayability: I'll load into it again to see if the puzzles have any variation.

The puzzles were tough but not frustrating. As an old and jaded puzzle veteran, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of puzzles. They also had good VR design here: some of these puzzles would just not work the same with a flatlander's interface. Time and space both become parts of some of the puzzles. I wonder/hope there is some way to give hints if the puzzles get too tough for younger players.

One of the VR-only things that all Doctor Who fans should experience is the Sonic Screwdriver. I don't care how good a flatland interface is: there is absolutely nothing like being able to grab up your Sonic, point it at a door, hear the sound and feel the vibration, and seeing the door heave itself open. This is where VR can be more engaging than a flatlander could ever understand. Same thing when you encounter the TARDIS. "Bigger on the inside" is so mind boggling when its actually you standing next to this narrow box and seeing the whole console room just inside. You can not help but peek around the edges. Using the console to fly the TARDIS is another great VR experience. I just want more flying! More places, more controls, more TARDIS time! Only in VR. Clicking a mouse on a button is just not the same as reaching around the console twisting knobs and yanking levers. Sorry, flatlanders.

FINAL VERDICT: A game that's not only a great VR experience, but a fantastic Doctor Who experience as well. Kudos to Maze Theory for bringing it to life. Next up is to replay it specifically looking for Easter Eggs!

I'll be doing a spoiler-filled review as well, and here are some YouTube links if you just need to see it for yourself.

Heck of a lot of fun! Almost like combining SUPERHOT with BEAT SABER. With auto-aim you feel like the ultimate badass. Without auto-aim you can see how hard it really is to hit your target. Great sense of motion, very fun shooter, and surprisingly tricky to keep the beat for best scoring. Good variety of music and track design, but looking forward to even more. Some tracks have much more vertical elements, others are more dancey, but they have all been great fun.

Create in VR with one of the best pick-up-and-draw VR art programs. Others may be more powerful sculpting tools, but Tilt Brush lets you dive right in. Artist training NOT required!

Yes, it has left-hand support, Undo, Duplicate, and all the creative tools you would expect, plus can export/import with most 3D development programs like Blender. Strongly recommended as a great creative toy and tool.

Let me be clear: I hate rhythm games. I dislike pre-made track games. I hate most people's music.

Holy crap, I love this game! No idea why, but the gameplay is remarkably satisfying, and getting good with a well-made track is exhilarating. Burns plenty of calories, too. They have a custom track editor, and you can exchange them online, so there is a ton of unexpected tracks out there, so even an old guy like me can find plenty of things to enjoy. Or even make your own.

So take it from a guy who hates these types of games: this really is something special.

After a few hours getting to grips with it, I do feel this is a very solid casual game. Cross a Tower Defense with a casual RTS and give it a sense of style and humor. Controls and gameplay are very straight forward, but plenty of variety in tactics on the field. Good on flatscreens, great in VR. Good single-player, great multiplayer, and devs who are still passionate about the game. Personally, I like the Demons faction, but they all have great style. They pack a lot of personality into the animations and sound.

If you like tower defense games, or want a light RTS that doesn't take a couple hours, this is strongly recommended.

Very solid chaos management game with some of the best dinosaurs to attempt to control. With recent updates unlocking sandboxes, its got plenty of play. And cool dinosaurs.

A delightful and creative mix between city building and puzzle solving. You get limited pieces to build on an island, but the way the pieces interact determines your score. You need a certain score to unlock the next island. The islands themselves are procedurally created, so its never the same match twice. Very good for casual gaming, but the longer your can keep it going, the more building types you get and the more interesting the puzzles become.

It also has a new Sandbox mode that lets you get an island and build whatever you want wherever you want. You can make some picturesque little island civilizations, and built-in camera tools let you share snapshots.

Great job by Grizzly Games, and I'm looking forward to putting a lot more time into this. For its price, its really a great game!
