Just finished rerunning Warhammer 40,000; Space Marine and as a game, it truly stands the tests of time, but you can't help but feel robbed upon completion. Overall, the game is definitely worth playing, and has content for post end game of the campaign for those interested, but it is limited to community matches with friends.

When released, it captured what was great about shooters which were dominating the genre at the time, the Halo franchise being an example (And in fact, it filled a void in the market for many who were interested in a fast paced game as such). The graphics were amazing; game play fluid, and intense; plot devices and build up of story were perfectly executed. Overall, it was a perfect piece of work.

However, all of it was for nothing. The marketing of the game at the time didn't offer much exposure. The multiplayer had budgets cut (Favouring P2P hosting instead of dedicated servers), and overall the financial collapse of THQ put the nails in the coffin. The game was the 1st of what was meant to be 3 instalments. Sadly, whilst the plot has been released due to constant questions from the fan base, it just leaves you with a sense of yearning more, which will likely never be delivered.

If you complete the game though, there is still more for those who have had an interest in the Warhammer digital games. The popular arena style games from Dawn of War is playable as a 1st person shooter. As stated, there is online games (Which are playable in small groups amongst friends in private lobbies), and you can rerun the game time and time again, and it never gets dull.

If anybody is looking for a game to sink there teeth in, definitely worth it and would recommend again, and again.
