I got the game ages ago, I bought the DLC recently. the black market DLC is ok but the Into the Rift DLC is absolute garbage that routinely causes complete server desync no matter what is tried. it even causes problems in solo play because this game is such a hack job it that it cannot handle the absolute flood of enemies it throws at you for "difficulty" in these missions without nigh on crashing everyone when someone tries it. this is tested with hosting from their recommended server hosts on vanilla gameplay so it isn't mod interactions or having scummy hosting (or at least scummier than the devs themselves recommend which I am starting to believe is one of their friends hosting servers from a laptop on stolen McDonalds wifi)

there are a lot of things this game could be but it fails to be anything but sub standard

this game is something I cannot recommend more, it isn't perfect but it is so damn good you wont care about the very minor ways it isn't perfect. the streamer mode songs are if anything better than the licenced tracks excluding the final boss track and it is just perfectly long enough to play through but with so much to do post game that you dont feel like it wasn't worth your money

bot matches are the absolute most insane ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and I love it. guns sound and feel great. explosives are dumb fun and it would take an event of biblical proportions to come between me and my MG

decent stalker ripoff with some fun ideas, ruined by abjectly awful ideas like massive long term grind, pvp mechanics the devs insist are integral to the game and progression despite the fact you directly gain nothing by pvping and general lack of content, balance or anything approaching an actual competent developer. particularly egregious are the story missions which are extremely hard, offer barely any assistance to explain mechanics introduced and used exclusively inside them and mostly reward garbage until you reach the very end where it gives you an end game armour suit for free that completely invalidates one entire line of the upgrade tree because it is just better in every way that matters.

update to this, the servers are dying constantly, half the time people can't log in or change zone without the game crashing as it tries to disconnect them and if they can get in they are stuck in loading forever as the server cannot load things around them. cheaters are rampant and devs are doing absolutely nothing about it despite claiming that they are working to address the issue, they banned one wave of cheaters for a week and have since done nothing despite blatant use of third party exploits by many players in all tiers of the game

devs continue to do nothing about cheaters who are being repeatedly reported, seen the same people who have been cheating since day 1 still everywhere, still cheating and still being untouched by devs. don't support these devs, they dont care about actually looking after their game. they just want to get as much money as they can out of the playerbase before it goes under

this game currently has many bugs, irritating balance, poorly thought out UI and gear design but absolutely none of that makes it any less fun to cause a Reaper to backflip off a ledge into a vat of molten steel with a well placed grenade box thrown at a velocity that makes it look like it came out of a railgun by your room temperature IQ Ogryn who forgets how to say he handled it and just says he's dead

changing this to negative until fatshark removes toughness bleedthrough entirely as it is a moronic feature that mostly makes toughness a wasted feature and more importantly fixes the many continuing stability and network bugs because it really got terrible in the last few days of beta
Also negative is the premium shop, the practice of trying to get more money out of players by offering premium currency for cosmetics is bad and only worse when the options are terrible amounts and exchange rates neither of which actually can properly be spent entirely, the bundles are by design not amounts that can be completely used and instead will leave a little bit left over so that you are incentivized to buy more to try and clear your balance out entirely or to think you are getting something cheaper because you already have part of the currency required
new things to be unhappy with come every update, performance keeps tanking randomly due to changes when prior to updates it was working fine, the crafting system is being very slowly drip fed to us piecemeal but thats irrelevant because getting good gear isn't possible via the shop and isn't reasonable unless you speedrun difficulty 1 missions and just get good rolls by sheer number of gifts of the emperor earned

Class update hit so I am updating this, new class mechanics are great and the new trees are basically what the game should have launched like given we've had similar in VT2 for ages. the endless load times and crash on load in once it does decide to do anything means its still not worth it, even worse they are now giving a large amount of premium currency to anyone buying on the microsoft store along with a bunch from the imperial edition and the official response from Fatshark's community manager was that the playerbase was "clutching their pearls" for being mad at this being unfair to those who supported the game prior to the xbox launch
until they actually fix their game it isn't worth paying a cent for. if they fix their attitude towards their customers it might be worth buying the premium cosmetics sometimes as well to support the team but its obvious that whoever or whatever was there in VT2 isn't here now

great ideas let down by it being barely even a tech demo. still waiting for it all to come together but kind of expecting to play it when I am retired at this point

dude needs a tip jar somewhere so I can throw him another $20 for how much fun I have had with this

1.1 update is great, workshop integration is up now which is great, immortal empires coming soon which is what we really want roll on the DLC for new factions!
