There are some problems with the progamming of the game. For me, after around 5h of gameplay, suddenly the framerate dropped "slightly" (yeah, I know, PC Masterrace People will curse a drop of 5 fps, but I'm normally fine with it) and the frame rate started to became unsteady. Because game speed is bound on fps, however, the game progressed in slow motion -> that's terrible. Google delivered a simple patch for that, easy to do and after that all is back to fine. The creator explained it's due to bad programming of the games frame rate capping being totally unstable.

Back to the relevant part: The story is epic, it made absolut fun to play this game and you will easily find yourself playing it for a long time. If you like anime-themed games, try this out, but be cautioness about some gamebraking problems. However they are easy to fix and their handling is explained very well.

A small game that can be completed - if rushed through - in only a few hours, but nevertheless a solid game title with a lot of fun, action and an awesome fighting style. If you are already a Fan of 2D Side Scroller Games, I absolute recommand to take a glance at this beauty.

The fights, which are the primary focus of the story of the game, are fast paced and allow even not well-experienced players a smooth access to the basics through a good set training curve. So, if you want to explore the good sides of Side Scroller Games, feel free to start with this title.

But the real highlight of this title is everything that occurs beside the main story.
Because finding your way through a totally new world can be very exhausting, the nice persons of the developer team give you acces to a friendly Narroter, beeing on a constant path guiding you the most efficient way to your goal. However, I don't want to go much in detail, but if someone is constantly telling you to turn right, because - according to him - there is nothing of interest on the left way, you will become interested in what may be hidden there. And if he starts getting mad on you once you slowly decide to turn left, you'll even got more interested and you will find it more and more amusing. And that kids is the real fun of this game :-D
Follow you own decisions, get verbally insulted whenever you pointlessly walk around and fight your way through armys of enemies and challaging bosses o furfill ICEYs destiny.

Further I want to describe my negative experiences with the game, however, they may be some kind of spoiler, so feel free to end reading right now.

First: It seems "hard" is the most challenging difficulty. To increase difficulty I challenged myself to some sort of Time Trial on "hard" without any skill enhancements. I finished the game in approxmately 1 hour. This leads to point two.
Second: The story is kinda short. If you just follow the instructions of the Narrator you will be done in one hour.
and Thrid: I finished the game about 4 times (completly) and I still don't really understand what the core of the story is about.

Last Part: The Narroter told me to rate this game 5/5. This is one of a few points I really believe he could be somewhat right. However, I ignored him nearly 100% of the time and it is said "Never change a running system.", so 5/5 cannot be an option here, right?
Additionally there are some "bad" parts about the game, so I will end with

4.5 / 5

absolutly worth its 10 bucks

Edit: Developers seem to be interested in the critique they recieve by the players. The reworked the "dodge followed by counterattack" mechanic by reducing the time window to do so to what feels like about 1/10 of the prior. - I Absolutly Love It! A friend of mine played the whole game by just spamming dash (the move that enables dodge) and cleared the game without ever breaking into sweat. That was just mindless ♥♥♥♥ (and kinda inefficient in respect to play time because enemies won't spam attack moves to allow good clearspeed by using this method). Now dodge is kinda hard even after several hours of playing and I still find myself most of the time not risking it anymore - in past it had been absolute foolproof....
Thank goodness they removed that ♥♥♥♥. :-)
