This game is like Factorio, except much more streamlined and elegant. Its the most fun I've had with an RTS game since Supreme Commander. The only thing that I think could be better is the tutorial, especialy with the Campaign mode.

Frankly the developers are ripping themselves off selling this game at $8.50.

So Ive played roughly a dozen of the Winged Sakura games at this point, Most of them from their earliest releases. This game is definitely one of their better ones.

-The Story & Dialogue
Very few ♥♥♥♥♥♥ anime tropes, especialy compared to other Sakura titles. This one is well written and actually has a proper Antagonist for the main character. There were even a couple of Fourth Wall jokes that were unexpected and made me chuckle.

-The Choices
There are only three but they actually matter. The story branches reasonably well making it worth going back to try the other option. Better yes though, the choices are actually MORAL choices rather than the boring old "Chase Girl A or Chase Girl B" options you get in some other titles. Its refreshing.

-The Character Designs & Illustrations
These characters are adorable and their illustrations are nice to look at. Unlike the gigantic foreheads in Sakura Beach that made my stomach churn. The cutscene Illustrations are really good too. The goofy ones are actually funny and the other ones are... well make sure you get the PATCH!

-The Sound
Some Sakura games have these awful midi files that play or music that is just plane old harsh on the ears. Thankfully the music in this game is really darn good! There are only 3-4 Tracks so by the end of the story the novelty has worn off but just sit on that main menu screen for a moment and enjoy that track.

-The Bad
A couple of the main story branches could have been written with a bit more impact. Two story branches where the Antagonist gets their way could have been a bit darker (in the case of the Bad End equivalent) or at least not so goofy (in the case of the Everyone is Awesome Ending).

Ive been playing every 'Sakura' title in order of release. This is the 8th released and I think only the second one I've given a positive review too.

This is a PG rated Sakura game, there is no R18+ content patch for this title.

Writing: They have experimented with comedy in previous titles and in my opinion the combination of innuendo and lewd jokes in this makes it very refreshing and enjoyable to read.

Characters: The characters are actually over 18. Thats been pretty rare so far in the series. Also unlike previous titles there are three heroines and each of them are quite funny. In previous titles there has always been one character whos lines ive found arduous and annoying to read.

Sound: nothing to see here. They are cheap midi files but (unlike previous titles) they dont make you want to drive a pencil into your ear drums.

CG scenes: Again, its a non-adult title but the CG scenes were much better than the last non-adult Sakura Game I played (Sakura Shrine Girls) which I described the scenes as being "too safe and reserved". Accompanied by the clever writing I quite enjoyed them.

Replay-ability & gameplay: So this one actually has some semblance of player choice throughout it. The game lets you chose which girl to see each day-to-day, depending on the order you choose different things happen throughout the game unlocking quite a large number of unique scenes.

Honestly this is far more effort than most of the other Sakura games I've played until this point.. which usually have only short branches or the no real differences based on the choices made.

There are four endings to unlock in total and replaying to get them all is rewarding not because of the CG (which is non-adult) but because of the great writing.

Cat girls are in my strike zone.. so I was quite disapointed by this one.

Its not patchable for any nice scenes like some of their other work, but unlike Sakura beach the scenes are very 'safe' and 'child friendly'.

The writing and characterisation was not bad though, thankfully. Some previous games characters were annoying as hell. But I felt like the ending was very abrupt and there needed to be just one more scene to close out the story.

All in all. I felt like this Visual Novel failed at two of the most important points of the genre. Illustrations and Story.

What a fun little game. I have to say, I bet the voice actors loved every line they were required to record for this.

Its like playing a 90's Synth Pop Scifi movie. Except that its actuallyFarcry 3 with a way better setting.

Doki Doki Literature Club is a Literal Literary Masterpiece.

So I gotta say It was spoiled for me ahead of playing it. So I knew what to expect. But it was still an amazing experience. I dont want to go into too much detail incase of accidental spoilers so ill be brief with each point.

Writing: compared to a lot of the Winged Cloud "Sakura" Visual Novels the writing is top notch.
Musical score: The BGM is lovely and also seamlessly transitions into different instruments for different characters.
Artwork: unlike some VN's on Steam the artwork cannot be faulted. This game does not have much however. And it doesnt have any perverted scenes.

Start for the booty, Stay for gameplay. Return for those 26 endings full of "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" vibes.

Okay well. This one is one of their better games so far. One par with Sakura Fantasy but with a totally different genre of story.

1. The writing in this one is very good. The characters are actually somewhat deep which helps endear you to them, the scenes are not ridiculous and the overall plot flows really well. Compared to Sakura Angels and Sakura beach these girls are actually likable. Sakura beach 1&2 which was a failure of a harem story around water.... this one is much better! Also the main character actually has parents. That's a first!

2. This title is one of the ones which contains sex scenes (if you don't have the steam version). The art is very good and characters design is nice. Much better than some of the older games like Sakura Angels.

3. Story Routes. While there isn't much extra art work to be unlocked by replaying different routes.. there is a plot point regarding the main character which is only uncovered when a particular route is taken. This is the first Sakura game that has this. (I am playing them in order of publication).

4. The songs arent as jarring and loopy as Sakura Beach. They fit pretty well with the different scenes and don't sound too much like cheap MIDI files.

5. Fully voiced Dialogue (in japanese). And its well done too. As someone who went through the effort to study Japanese I always appreciate this. I'm sure budget is why not every Sakura game has voiced dialogue but it definitely adds to the experience.

Sakura Beach 2 continues the story of the first game. Just about all of the background music and background images seem to be reused from the first.

At the start of the game you are asked which ending you "selected" from the first so that the narrative is accurate in this chapter.

The plot largely revolves around this one weird girl who's sudden appearance spurs the characters into finally making decisions. But the writing is still pretty horrible.

I really cant be bothered writing too much about this chapter as it was enough effort just to get through it. See the review of the first title and all of that applies here.

Before we get into it; This game doesn't have much ecchi let alone any H-scenes.

The writing for this one was bad. Scenes were kinda boring, there was at least one spelling error that I noticed. And both heroines were hella annoying. They used the same basic template as Sakura Angel of one airhead and one tsundere but neither of these girls have any redeeming characteristics.

Back to MIDI files was jaring after Sakura Fantasy, these were also worse than normal as they looped poorly. At least one was re-used from previous games.

The character art was the only thing that seemed like it improved. Or maybe they just had a different artist.

This one is the first Sakura game to have a follow up, but given how much I disliked this title I'm not sure I'm going to go straight into it. So much beach potential wasted, maybe itll be reached in the sequel.

One last complaint, But this is about the series overall.
Can you please stop using the SAME *walking in on someone changing clothes* trope in every.♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.game. use some creativity ffs
