The game is a blast and runs smoothly for me. There are MP campaign crash issues, but that is a hereditary disease of TW games. They do usually make it better with later patches.

Early Access Review
I buy this game. I run it. Turns out it has its own launcher, so I install it using the launcher and play it for like an hour at most.
The gameplay is arcadish and messy. I don't like the game and so I want to refund it. Steam won't refund it because I've ostensibly played for 10 hours already. Which I didn't. I guess I left the launcher running after installing the game.
Stupid game.

Many people are saying that this game is just a copy of Atilla which doesn't make much sense to me. True, tactical battles in Atilla and Saga are basically identical, but when you look at all the new mechanics added on a strategic level, there are more differences between Atilla and Saga than between Atilla and Warhammer II.

And hey, I am a long time fan of the series and am as excited about new mechanics as the next guy. The problem is those mechanics while interesting at the first look are poorly designed and ruin the experience.

Developers put several unprotected small settlements in each province. You can't really defend all those settlements and yet if they are captured your economy is screwed and by recapturing them you will screw your public order as well.

Negative public order now gives you an N% chance of the rebellion and it is very questionable (read obnoxious) decision to introduce RNG elements to the game which never relied on RNG before.

They also drastically changed the way units are recruited; units now consume food as part of their maintenance; armies consume supplies when in the enemy territory, and while those changes sound interesting, developers also dumbed down the game by getting rid of mercenaries, agents and by removing the buildings required to hire units.

For me, it is the worst TW game up to date. The changes are there but they aren't positive and well-thought through, they are preposterous.
