Absolutely magical.

I knew, 30 seconds into the public test that I would love The Talos Principle, and the full game did not disappoint. My favorite aspects of the game include:

The music
The voice acting (even though there are only 2 voices)
The environments/lighting/atmosphere
Each of the endings

Yeah, a couple of the endings are lack-luster, but within the context of the game, each ending has a purpose. The game as a whole would be incomplete without any one of them. For me, it was a thrill to go back and play them all, when each one gave a bit more information about the world.

Just enough information to speculate and give ideas, but little enough that the lore ends up arguably being whatever you see in it.

The puzzles, being the main gameplay mechanic, are not too difficult. The few that had me stumped were solved by leaving the area, doing other challenges, and coming back to them with fresh eyes. The more intense Star puzzles, though, kicked my ass in a very welcome manner. The game is also replayable at least twice, if you become invested in the philosophy and backstory of the game.

I would recommend The Talos Principle to anyone who loves puzzles, and also to all of humanity.

This Public Test gave me a glimpse of a game that has a whole lot of elements I look for when browsing for something new to play. When it comes to free samples, this test does it right by giving you just enough information and leaving you with just enough questions.

I'm not sure if the full game will begin the way the test does, but I'd really like if it did, since it felt organic and set the mood.

The game also looks gorgeous.
