This game is a hidden gem and I believe there won't be another like it for quite some time. With that being said, the game is very fun and rewarding...once you put in some hours to really get a grasp for the mechanics and weapons. Any weapon in the game can be good if you are decent and can outplay opponents. With the new 1.0 patch, many weapons were changed but that doesn't really affect a new player thinking of picking up the game.

I've been seeing a lot of straight up lies when it comes to reviews for this game. People saying it's pay to win and such is absolutely false. Everything that you can pay for is purely cosmetic and provides no benefit whatsoever to someone using a weapon/hunter skin. I personally don't mind the microtransactions as the company needs to get money somehow to keep making content for this game.

Someone like myself, and many others will thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere of this game. The tense feeling this game creates is like no other and the environment is second to none. It truly captures the late 1800's feel of Louisiana and the old west.

If you are on the fence about purchasing this game, definitely go for it and don't listen to these reviews made by crybabies. Maybe get a friend or two to take the plunge with you and sooner or later you'll be itching to get into the bayou with your boys for another round of Hunt.
