The game has a lot of character; the setting, enemies, and characters all stand out. I've got no idea what the heck is going on with the League of Legends lore, but I assume if you're in to that, then this is even better. The story is simple enough, but is brought to life by the setting and characters, and it is over before it gets old.
Combat is fun and challenging without getting too repetitive (although there are moments where it gets close). Character development is complex at first, but gives a huge amount of depth once you get the hang of it.

Absolute gem of a city-builder. Yes, it's horribly difficult on your first run and you'll probably have to restart more than once to get things set up right.

It's your standard 'manage resources while building & researching, and don't let your population get too angry' which you can find in hundreds of other games out there. It's done well, and choices feel like they matter, and consequences of your actions go beyond figuring out which stat is higher all the time. What really sets this apart is compelling story telling (which I won't ruin here) and setting, it feels desperate in more ways than one and keeps me pushing through to the next sector.

A great game and not too expensive, even when it's not on sale.

It's a game of three parts; turn-based combat which is good, RPG which is great, and world-map exploration and battles, which are so boring and repetitive that it brings the entire game down.

If you can look past that entire section of the game, you'll have a great time. The characters are interesting and well written, the combat and RPG elements are 10/10, but unfortunately I just couldn't bring myself to sit through another tedious settlement defence.

It's just a slightly better Vermintide - in space. Play Vermintide first, it's cheaper and more polished after so many years of development, but if you've had your fill of Vermintide, this is an excellent new addition in the series.

I absolutely love the level design and art style, but the game feels unfinished.

You fight the same enemies over and over, there are far too few practical cards to use, subtitles cannot be disabled, you will come across countless invisible walls, and you'll encounter multiple graphical glitches.

If the game was half the length it is, it would add to it. As it is, I just got bored of the same fights over and over.

The game does everything well. Every aspect of the combat, the music the graphics - it's all done flawlessly. What it does better than any other game I've played is that incredible sense of being overrun. You're fighting hordes (like in a thousand other games) but The Last Spell truly makes it feel like a hopeless last stand every single run.
It doesn't feel like Early Access and is worth buying right now at full price if you're a fan of turn based, rogue-lite, or tower defence games.

It's a great city builder which does everything right. The difficulty curve is perfect, there's enough complexity while still being accessible, and the water management & vertical building mechanics are fantastic. If you're a fan of city builders it's a no-brainer, even at this stage of early-access at full price.

If you liked the original then you'll like this. It's literally more of the same.

First run - discover that friendly fire is on and we all die.
Second run - friend discovers that shooting the AI is a bad idea and we all die.
Third run - reactors can explode. We all die.
Fourth run - overdose on opioids while friend suffocates because I can't help him. We all die.

10/10.
