Don't play dota 2, for the love of all the is holy. You probably won't have fun playing PvE but you definitely will not have fun with PvP. Players are super toxic and new players will not be given a break if they don't know what to do or the meta instantly. It also doesn't help that Valve constantly adds more ways for players to bad mouth (bm) each other at every little opportunity. There are literally pro player voice lines that valve added that are demeaning and insulting to who ever it is targeted toward. Valve thinks the toxicity lies with the players but it's the game the game design that they carefully cultivated into this trash talk mess that makes players hate each other. Their most "recent" "fix" in the Summer 2023 update was to add a second social score to your profile which has no clear indication of how you increase or reduce it. All I can surmise from it is once your score hits a point, you are blocked from certain communications between your teammates or enemies. Some communications that are needed in this TEAM based game. I.E. calling out abilities, voice chat, and text chat. There have been many times where I lost the game because I couldn't communicate that a teammate wasn't ready to fight because I could not ping his abilities.

To put it simply, The game is toxic and valve both provokes, rejects it, and is taking the most heavy handed approach at "fixing it".
