While it certainly can have stability problems at times, Red Dead 2 is absolutely a fantastic game. The single player story is compelling with interesting characters and the world feels alive. There is plenty to do outside of the main story and the story itself feels well paced, well acted, and well written. The online component, while containing the bulk of the issues (mostly disconnects, although I haven't really experience this myself, a friend of mine is constantly being d/ced if he does anything with matchmaking), is fun and as of this writing, actually has stuff to do. You can get a decent days worth of things to do between the trade skills and there are some story missions that can be fun. The biggest issue I've run in to is with hackers, while not frequent, it is frustrating when it happens. It's not enough to ruin the game for me, but it does suck. Despite it's flaws, I'd still give it a strong recommend, if only for the single player alone.
