Professor Von-Wulfen 
United Kingdom (Great Britain)
21 October 1805 (1630hrs) off Cape Trafalgar on the Spanish coast.
He is gone. Our Nel is no more say the signal flags of HMS Victory.
Captain aboard HMS Wolf 38 Frigate, I was at my station on the quarterdeck as this solemn signal was reverberating among the remaining squadron.
We have dealt a savage blow to the Corsican tyrants fleet and they are destroyed or taken as prize, but at what cost? The loss of the greatest hero of our age is too much to bear!
On our return to Portsmouth, I left the repair and refit to my first Leftenant and immediately took a coach to London.
I was distraught, inconsolable I tell you! I retreated to my rooms and could not be consoled.
My particular (and admittedly slightly eccentric) friend professor Ainsworth was informed of my condition and immediately rushed to my side.
At first, I informed my servant that I was not at home to callers but he was insistent and being of a mind that I was in such low spirits my servant admitted him in the hope he could bring me to my senses.
I bring you hope dear Wulfen he did cry. What hope can there now be I replied?
While you have been at sea for the past two years I have been experimenting with the latest technology and have devised a Steam Machine that can transport one back in time!
Even to the day of the battle so you may intercede on his Lordships behalf and save him from the unfair fate that has taken him!
What folly is this I answered?
No folly my dear friend come with me now to my laboratory and I will show you the marvel of our age.
On arrival at the laboratory, I was confronted by the most wonderful sight, he had indeed built a magnificent machine and he quickly went through its construction and functions.
I leave immediately I said. But brother will you not rest first?
No, I must press on in the utmost ernest I said as I clambered into the infernal machine, my sword hanging at my waist clanking as I climbed aboard.
As he twidled dials and pulled leavers the power of steam built until a large bang was heard and a flash of light engulfed me.
I did indeed travel through time but to my dismay, it was not to that fateful day off Spain but to the future!
And to add insult to injury the Steam time machine was stolen by a gang of what they term Moped thieves. A band of desperate pirates that ride the land and on small land ships that they employ to their wicked ways.
They then proceeded to try and rob me of my hat and sword! I gave battle and sent two of the vermin scurrying back to they're little land ships.
Unfortunately, a third moped pirate came upon my rear. I swung about to confront the devil but he squirted some noxious chemical mix (no dought some hoodoo voodoo concoction handed down by your witch doctors and such) into mine eyes. I was undone and they soon descended upon me.
After I had recovered and washed my face in a nearby garden pond I proceded to my rooms in the vain hope they still existed in this strange future world.
To my utter surprise and joy, they still did most certainly exist and looked exactly as I had left them, though they were now surrounded by the largest buildings, made of glass mind you, that I had ever seen.
I took forth my keys and slid them into the lock.
I turned the key and opened the door. Immediately from the servant quarters came the footman, at first sight, I hugged him, thinking he was my loyal man of the past.
It turns out now that he is a relative whos duty has been handed down through the generations until my return.
It seems my dearest of friend, Professor Ainsworth had arranged everything so that on my return I would still be accustomed the gentleman.
From correspondence he left me, it seems he had a bit of a rough time with the magistrate when I disappeared.
I still hold true to my sacred mission, and through the arcane power of electricity and computers, I endeavor to save his grace every evening after a quick sherry!
