It's a tough one to recommend because the gameplay is really slow and requires patience. But if it's up your alley then go for it. Several things you should know before you jump in: the ATV DLC is almost mandatory because the maps are huge. African and Alaskan DLCs are totally worth their price. I'd recommend getting the base game when it's on sale (which is pretty often) and giving it a shot. If you like it then like me you'll slowly get all the DLC you need.

TLDR: A huge recommendation. My GOTY 2019 and my favorite From Soft game to date.

A very attractive rythm game like combat with typical From Soft exploration.

Apart from really loud deathblow sounds top notch.

Pretty harsh violence.

Runs great on mid tier PC @ max settings.

---{Difficulity}---

Game is punishing and requires skill. Once you get the hang of it it's a ton of fun and becomes easier than Dark Souls and Bloodborne.

The only grind is getting achievements. Also, if you want to try out every upgrade for the arm and/or all combat and passive skills.

---{Story}---

It is a pretty standard revenge story on the surface but if you explore it's really deep and intricate. There's a lot to discover and to enjoy in this game in terms of characters and their relationships as well as their motivation with some loose ends left for the inevitable DLC.

---{Game Time}---

Your first playthroughs will take you 12-30 hours with subsequent runs getting considerably shorter.

---{Price}---

This is a testament to the good old approach to game development. A fantastic singleplayer experience with absolutely none of the current industry traits.

You will have to look very meticulously for any bugs or just google them.

It's a good Hitman game but it keeps crashing and is almost unplayable on a decent system.

The game has a ton of issues and bugs. Latest patch added microtransactions. Well done Bluehole. I ONLY play it with a bunch of buds more to make fun of the game then actually have fun in it. It's also plagued with cheaters. Oh, and gun mechanics are terrible compared to say Insurgency.

There's been too much negative reviews with this DLC lately. I'm writing this because I think Ashes deserve better. In my opinion the expectations are way too high with the series and the community is stuck in a loop with "Bring back poise" and "two hours DLC sucks".

Yes, it's relatively short. But it's not two hours long. If you are methodical like me and enjoy exploring every nook and crany it'll take you around four to five hours to complete. Think of it like it's a half of The Old Hunters and that was the ONLY DLC Bloodborne ever got. Even more Artorias of the Abyss wasn't much longer either. I will agree that some enemy placement was a little bit unimaginative and seemed like it was made like this to make you struggle and take more timie with it. That said it never reached frustration with me I found this to be a fun challenge to overcome. I hope you will as well.

The last boss is amazing and worth the asking price alone IMO. PvP arena is long overdue but still a neccessary addition for every Souls fan and some of the new weapons are fun to mess around with. Regardless of enemy placement level design is top notch and deserves much praise.

Overall I give it a solid recommendation.

By the way no matter how heavy and durable your armor is it doesn't help your balance in any way just check out videos of people in plate armor push each other.

ABZÛ is very reminicent of Journey which is no surpize since it comes from the same developer. In short it's as pretty but not as deep.

If you are into marine wildlife you're most likely to enjoy it. Animal models and behavior are decently accurate however their placement is at times questionable. ABZÛ is more about the experience than accurate biological representation.

Compared to Jorney ABZÛ offers no multiplayer which was an unforgettable part of Journey's experience as well as a great experiment in anonymous communication. In addition the story is not as deep and clever you can even say that it's bordering on preachy. I'd go as far as saying that the story hits you over the head it's simplicity - poluting oceans is bad and will bite humanity in the a$$. Nevertheless, ABZÛ makes up for it's lack of ABZÛ (wisdom in sumerian) with stunning visuals and an engrossing atmosphere. Enviroments are vibrant and reward exploration.

The game is very short and can be completed in two hours but the intention is clearly to promote exploration and meditation and just plain relaxing. In my case it worked.

Right now it's on sale and for the current price it's money well spent in my opinion.

It's deep. It's challenging. It's beautiful. And it's dirt cheap.

It was a hit on Kickstater. It runs on a potato. If you enjoy rouge-like games with a lot of clever and engaging micro management and a unique sci-fi setting it's a must buy for you.

The story is simple and clever. You carry vital information to save the Federation from the rebellion that's been tearing the galaxy apart. Yes, rebels are the bad guys! And you got the whole rebel fleet chasing you. Along the way you will face various encounters with rebel scouts pirates neutral and friendly ships sometimes offering unique events with randomized outcomes. There's a number of spieces besides humans that all have their distinct features and abilities. Some of them you'll be able to welcome to your crew. You'll have to upgrade your ship and train your crew to get to your fleet because every sector gets progressively harder. Each run is randomized.

There's lots of ships to unlock and quests to complete. It's a huge game for a very modest price. Quite frankly it's a steal.

I've completed every single achivement finished the game with every playable ship and I still keep coming back. You can try different strategies every time or even have a self imposed challenge.

Try it. You'll thank me later.

I would very much love to recommend this game. But sadly I can't. And here's why.

The combat is very fast and relies on you dodging enemy attacks and then punishing them in their vunerable state. It reminds me of Souls games and Bloodborne. However where those games boast fantastic responsiveness and robust controls this game falls flat on it's face and completely ruins the whole experience,

Controls are very unreliable. Sometimes you dodge, sometimes you don't because even if you press the button in time your character will not respond to your input. The easiest way to check this issue is try dodging several times in a row when not in combat. You'll quickly see what I mean.

Framerate drops are constant on the upper-middle class rig that runs DSIII on 60fps no problem,

Perhaps the Game Maker Studio used to make HLD is to blame but regarless it is a frustrating experience.

Game's art direction is worthy of mentioning because this is a gem to look at. Locations are pretty and there are some nods to classic games with way better controls.

No matter how apealing this game looks on the surface stay away.

A very clever story with ever-present theme of inevitable end of all things and ways of coping with it mixed with deep lore is unfolded through exploring the world almost without any cutscenes and very little dialogue. Each NPC has a story to tell and has his/her goals in Lordran. There's no handholding. This game is like no other in this aspect.

Every area feels unique, the design is thoughtful and tasteful. Enemy visual variety is complemented by constant surpizes in fighting approach.

Level design deserves special commendation. The world is crafted with amazing attention and all shorcuts you discover are very clever.

I won't lie, This is a difficult and unforgiving game. But once you get in and learn it's ropes you will get such satisfaction that no other game will ever offer you.
