Not much to say,

The game relies on the "Free Scenario" system.
If you go into this game with the idea of blending some Wizardry concepts with standard JRPG fair, you'll probably have a good time.

It's a game that begs to be replayed. In my case, I restarted my campaign several times once I wrapped my brain around the system.

Figuring out optimization to unlock more tech and create a optimal party of your own creation is a lot of fun. Don't expect to be spoon feed the concept, as both the mechanics and story require exploration to find. Thankfully this isn't an RPG with the caveat "you need to put in 'x' amount of hours to enjoy". If you explore the system, figure out what mechanics are within the game, it ought to take about 3 hours to grasp the concepts. However, you may want to restart your story once you know you've gotten it.

Overall, it's a fun experience that relies on the players desires to experiment with the scenarios and systems provided.

If you haven't played Tekken in a while, 7 is a good one to dip your toes into.
Early on, you may rely on the games assists and auto Rage art/drive ability, but the more you play the more you pick up the fundamentals.

Mind your spacing, engage in footsies and fishing for ins on your opponent and you'll have a good time.

Online seems stable enough and allows you to prioritize to other players with strong connections.

I have yet to encounter a modern roguelike inspired game that blends the story elements and game mechanics this well. Each play through unlocks more to the tale. This helps you become acquainted with the denizens of the Underworld, and thus making your time more enjoyable.

Overall, the game play is smooth, the characters likeable, and enough twists and turns to keep you playing.

It has plenty of unlockables, wonderful music, and impeccable art design.

Another great game under the belt of this indie giant developer.

Little is changed from the Prepare to Die Edition, some minor tweaks here and there, certainly worth picking up when on sale.

When I first heard about Nidhogg, it sounded like a dream. There were whispers in multipayer communities about a rise of local multiplayer games that truly captured the imagination. The rise of games like Samurai Gunn and Towerfall Ascension have been popping up in the gaming scene, and it has been much better for it. Nidhogg, much like the aformentioned titles, offers that same sort of experience to players.

Nidhogg could be describe as a combat simulator, but of the flashy variety. It offers various levels of play with a basic control scheme. At first glance the game seems a little lacking in levels, but once you dive in the game reveals it's levels of depth. In some regards it seems similar to the high level of play found in a Smash Bros Melee game. Some levels provide a "gimmick" to playing them, as others offer simplicity. The Stages, Castle and Mines, offer the most straightforward approach to combat, while other levels lik Clouds and Wilds offer more strategic play for more wilely players.

When picking up the game, it's important to ask why you're doing it. This is not for the solitary experience, certainly not worth the price point. Get some friends together and have yourself a classic gaming night.

First off I have to ask you if you've played the original. If you answered no to this question then I'd like to break it down for you; this game was a pioneer in it's time, and it's a relic from that past. When Jet Set Radio was initially released in 2000 it was an odd duckling, the closest comparison at the time was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. At first glance it's a quirky skating game with shoddy camera control (limited by the technology at the time,) but it's much more than that; Jet Set Radio is an expression of freedom. Jet Set's story revolves around the idea of feelin' the soul of the street, feeling the funky vibes juiced out by Professor K. It was an artist's DIY dream, at least at the time. While you can collect the various 'souls of the street' (unlockable in-game graffiti) you also have the options to create your own graffiti. The graffiti interface isn't sophisticated, rather it feels like using MSPaint, but with some practice you can produce stunning graffiti. This game is about your personal involvement, your personal investment into that soul. Do you feel or, do you create, or do you just jive?

My earliest memories of this game will be one of the most cherished of my gaming experiences. I did not know what to expect, could not fathom what I was seeing in this old tale of Tokyo-to; it's about the direct rejection of commercialized culture, manufactured and souless creation. You do face rival gangs through-out the game, each one having their own style, their own call sign and graffiti, but the central focus is foiling the plot driven by the Rokkaku group, and it's owner Goji Rakkaku. The core concept of the game is to spray paint, or 'tag', enemy territories which gains you reputation in those areas. The controls can be a tad frustrating, requiring simple timing for Quick-Time-Event graffiti tagging, and at times the came can be really frustrating, limiting you to a front view and not allowing to properly survey the area which can cost you some life points. Thankfully Jet Set Radio is relatively forgiving, spacing out health packs through the level when you make up, or if you run into aforementioned control of camera struggles and lose a huge bar of health.

Case and point, one should not go in playing Jet Set Radio without first considering the era in which it was created. The music is undeniably 90's with several little sprinkles of Shibuya-kei tracks, electronica, it leaves a pleasant quirky japanese taste in your mouth. Were this game to be judged by todays standards it would reach a low rating, from about a 6.5 - 7.2. It's release is clearly aimed to fans of the series (JSR and JSRF,) who have been waiting to see an HD release or mention of a sequel. All considered, Jet Set Radio's real heart lies behind its charm, and if you can get over some of it's technical limitations then you will find yourself a true treat.

A great real-time 4x game (Expand, Explore, Exploit, Exterminate.) To sum it up - "shut up and take my money!"

Challenging and nuanced, Dota 2 offers a more traditional view of the MOBA genre, which isn't to say that it's a bad thing, on the contrary, it's a fantastic thing. Learning the system feels rewarding, and you can feel yourself progressing and grasping the concepts of the game each time that you play. It has a comprehensive layout, offers an immense amount of tweaking; the game can technically be displayed as you please. As with most MOBA games it offers a robust selection of Heroes, each with their own playstyle and mechanics; you could lose yourself in it's depth. If you know that you love the genre then I highly recommend Dota 2.

Dark, very atmospheric and difficult. The Void leads you on a journey you've never seen before. Solitude surrounds you as you fight for colour, the only thing keeping you alive in the void. Take head, drink in the colour and try the challgenge of The Void.
