EDIT: Great game, I finished the whole thing and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm sticking with my original rating of 8/10. Some aspects of the ending felt a little rushed, but all around SoD was a great bridge between the two games.

Pros:
-Returning voice actors - hearing David Warner and Kevin Michael Richardson in their roles again was particularly fantastic.
-Interesting story - not as well written as the original BG games, but still pretty good. Bridges the gap between games very well.
-Lots of enhancements - Patch 2.0 came out with Dragonspear and applied to the other games. It really adds a lot of new useful stuff. It's not perfect, but with a few patches it should be up to snuff. I honestly don't have any problems with it and don't understand the people who are raging saying it's the worst thing ever.
-Great humor - hearing Minsc explain why everyone was off to war to a little girl was great. "You see little girl there are many butts in this world, and some butts need kicking..." Fantastic humor throughout.

Cons:
-The game is a bit buggy. I've never had a hard crash to desktop though, and only once so far have I had to close the game because of a bug. Could be better, but still not bad. Should have been a little more polished before release.
-Apparently not very compatible with mods or older versions of BG. I pretty much started all over, and I have had no problems, but apparently some people are having problems getting their mods to work, or older save files. If you use mods heavily, you may want to wait a little bit until the modders can adapt their work.
-Muliplayer is pretty buggy right now.
-Some of the new characters are kind of dull/boring to me, but that's all just a matter of opinion.

The game isn't anything revolutionary, but it's definitely been worth the money for me so far. I'd give it an 8/10.

Anyone claiming that LGBT themes are being forced down their throats is completely wrong. There is literally one character that is transgender with like one line of dialogue explaining it if you ask them about their unusual name. Saying that SJW propaganda ruined this game is absolutely false. Don't let one minor character ruin a great game for you.

Pros:
Gameplay (highly addicting), very team oriented
The developers are very involved in the community and respond to feedback
Great character/environment design
Great soundtrack

Cons:
Bugs. The game is still in closed beta so expect bugs.
Matchmaking. A new matchmaking system was recently implemented, but due to low player population doesn't seem to work (but it should when the player population goes up).

As long as you go into the game remembering it's still in beta, you should be fine. The people who dislike this game tend to be the ones who expect it to be perfect in its current state (though it's quite easy to forget that it's still in beta). Highly recommended.
