This game takes the best lightsaber action of Jedi Knight II/Jedi Academy, and the best game play of The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition, and combines it into one game. It's really a good game with few drawbacks. but there are some pro's and cons:

Pro :
great control customization; if you don't like button mashing or having to enter buttons in a certin order rapidily, or even having to press a button to remain clinging to a wall, you can turn off those features with out affecting game play.

cons:

Not a LucasArts made game. for decades StarWars games were made by LucasArts, which was owned by George Lucas, who also owned Lucas Film and of course is the creator of the Star Wars Franchise. With the purchase of the franchise by Disney and the following shutdown of LucasArts, there has been a lot of miss-use and abuse of the Franchise by Disney. Star Wars Shovel-ware, and the new Movies not not with standing, their worst crime has been the re-writng of established star wars lore. if Disney really wanted to make it up to the fans, they would at the very least re-open Lucas Arts. it's a name that is associated with great star wars and other titles, such as the Curse of Monkey island series, Maniac Mansion II : Day of the Tentacle and many other great titles.

EA origin is required for the game. even though it is a steam game. Also, if you are one of the few that already have EA origin installed, because you have other EA titles, such as DeadSpace, or Simcity, you can not have origin already running in the background when you go to play J:FO. this is becuase Origin enters a special mode when you try to run your steam purchased game. this mode disables Origins's built in store and a few other things. In order to boot the game successfully, you need to shutdown EA origin before starting your Steam purchased EA game. EA should just get with the program already and just fully move their titles too steam. none of this half here, half there garbage....

I played this game during it's free weekend, and was pretty impressed. this game is Jedi Knight meets BioShock meets Splinter Cell. I pretty much stuck to the shadows in the game, so I engaged in very litlle combat. but if one chooses to confront an enemy, they can either outright confront them, or sneak up behind them and knock them out or kill them from behind. there are consequences for being discovered and for killing enemies. the alert level will be raised, and reinforcements will be summoned. supposedly later in the game there are two types of enemy that increase in number depending on the kills you make. I never made it bast the first level (assisinate high overseer). but when this game next goes on sale for $4,99, i will get it for sure. Only reason I didn't get it this time was i had just purchased borderlands 2 and all it DLC on sale from it's free weekend, so my budget was depleted. fair warning though, the keyboard controls are a little complicated. xbox360 controllers are fully supported. i would suggest using one of those if you have trouble using the keyboard mouse combo.
