This game has greatly improved graphics/rendering compared to New Order and that is surprising given it still running Id Tech 5. Never the less this game has a boring non existent storyline and the guns are kinda boring.
Writers/direction found in New Order is not found in this game. I know it's just 2 DLCs welded together but yeah if you didnt just finish New Order then this will be okay. If you did just finish New Order like me this game was kind of a grind and a bit mid.

Fantastic game for it's time. Can't believe i'm playing it 23 yrs later.
Download Dash faction, give it good modern settings and download the AI upscaled texture pack and have fun. This was a great game on PS2 in 2001 and it's a great game now.
Not as well oiled as a Half Life but apparently a small team studio but they tried a lot of cool things.

EDIT: Very frustrating that if i buy an engine and swap back to stock, i now no longer own the engine. i just lost 130 coins! 15 hrs of gameplay for those coins is gone because i didnt want a C251 2J in my vehicle yet because i still have some C3 clubs to finish. Please fix this and hopefully refund me my coins. Thanks


This game is awesome!
Does not feel like a copy fo a NFS or Forza game. It has its own style and challenges. They are updating and improving constantly. and for anyone worried about crappy AI voices, that was just in the intro section of the game. i havent heard any in the last 14 hrs.

EDIT: To activate Antialiasing AND disable forced upscaling!
go to C:\Users\YOUR PROFILE\AppData\Local\JDM\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
and open Engine.ini and at the bottom add

[SystemSettings]
r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing=1
//0 = no AA, 1 = FXAA, 2 = TAA and 3 = MSAA


Then open GameUserSettings.ini
and down the bottom will be some settings you can lower. each restart and change of ingame graphic settings will change most of them back but i have found sg.ViewDistanceQuality=1, sg.FoliageQuality=1, and
sg.ShadingQuality=1 will stay to a factor of 1 after restarts.

There are honestly a million settings to add to these files and i am once again ASTOUNDED that the devs have released their game with forced upscaling and settings that arent very manageable for most machines on the market.

What are you doing? Why is there no anti aliasing or DLSS on this unreal engine release that you seemingly didn't do anything with the feedback from the demo to actually learn what is in your ini files and optimize the game to run smoothly for almost anyone? Even without AA or DLSS your graphical settings are terrible. my 3080 cant handle the game on max settings with no vsync. And it still looks terrible on 1440P max without AA and movement has such epic frame drop its crazy. You got roasted for the demo but lucky enough you had no steam reviews but this time is different. for real you need to modify these graphical ini files to make this game run okay for most people that try it. This is unacceptable as a prologue release especially after public feedback from your demo.

I can't remember what had to go into the engine.ini file last time but there are plenty of settings in the gameusersettings.ini. These are located in your hidden appdata folder in the local folder under "JDM". The engine.ini can remove the aweful upscaling being applied but i dont think the thread discussion from last time is still up where someone gave advice to get the game running stable on high or low end machines.

Great game. Wish it had a certain future. They honestly should just incorporate it into Skyrim at this point or make a Legends 2 that plays natively from within Elder Scrolls 6. Like maybe any tavern in any city has a card room like some Yakuza type beat.

Yeah this game is pretty sick. Has the grit needed for this kind of game. I very much look forward to the full release and i wish it was going to be sooner.

GOATED reboot! The true reboot of Doom and successor to Doom 3. Good hell and horror elements unlike Quake 5 (read: Doom Eternal).

Awesome game on pc and awesome game on steamdeck at max graphics full 60fps no issue.
