This is an expertly done mod. If you didn't know beforehand, you'd think this game was made by Valve. If you enjoyed Portal 2, you will enjoy this. Plus, at the low price of free (except needing to own Portal 2), you have no reason to not play it.

TL;DR: Overkill sees you as nothing more than a walking wallet.

This is a fun game, but only if you want to pay as this game has become a complete money grab. There have been enemies added to the game that are very difficult to defeat without owning certain DLC. Even though there is already over $100 in DLC availble to purchase, they apparently needed to include microtransactions for skins that give stat bonuses. If you feel like giving people, who are willing to pay, a bonus to stats is fine because the game is player vs environment, then you should be ok if someone mods the game to let him one shot every enemy with infinite ammo as that also only helps the team.

The money grab became evident with the Hype Train event which game the community some free content for buying DLC. One of the DLC packs was the Completely Overkill pack available for $20 that gave some masks to use in game and a secret item that would be released at a later date. After NINE months of waiting the reward was finally revealed to be a random weapon skin of quality varying from good to worthless.

Most of the community said "remove the stats from the skins." The developer Overkill responsed with, "no, but we are listening and will make it up to you." They just added team boosts to some skins now making the problem even worse than before and proving that they will not listen. If you want to play in a pub game, you may find yourself being kicked if you don't buy a weapon skin that contains a team boost.

They have pissed off the community so badly that even the Steam forums moderators are currently refusing to work: http://steamproxy.net/app/218620/discussions/8/496881136905452713/

Their most recent "balance" of the game weapons means that best weapons to use are pistols as they can get higher damage than assault rifles and can be as accurate as sniper rifles. This also means that some of the DLC that players bought for certain gun mods are now worthless because the guns are terrible now. Their consideration for "fixing" this balance included a straight -15 damage to all pistols even though some got a +40 damage boost and others had the damage decreased meaning they would then become absolute pea shooters showing they gave that no thought at all.

Additionally, the developer Overkill typically does not fix bugs. It took over two years to fix bugs in the skills that existed from the launch of the game and there are still plenty of bugs that haven't been fixed. Unless it's a game breaking bug, Overkill would rather spend their time making paid DLC. Plus a "reward" for completing an object during this year's Crimefest was a jumping animation. Something that should have been in the game from the beginning was added only after the community had to work for it. When asked about if we would have gotten the animation even if we did not complete that objective, the response was simply, "you'll never know," which, in that context, meant no.

Side note about the console versions: Never consider getting the console versions. They do not get updated and the Xbox version had a huge issue with matchmaking that made it near impossible to find games. They finally just released a fix, but it's way too late and at this point I'd be surpised if there was anyone left playing on the console community.
